Was his input cool? Did it add to the sound or was it just kinda filler or generic NIN?Six7Six7 wrote:Dave was just on the new NIN EP.bman wrote:Perkins... is probably the only one in the Janes camp that actually wants to make new music.

I just listened to Burning Bright (Field on Fire).
Even by NIN standards that's a bad song. Daves playing (from what I guessed was him) was widdley-widdley guitar stuff mixed down low... meh.

Awesome. Glad you agree that he recorded new music recently.

Yes. It represents the futility and monstrosity of this thread.

Koala Bears have a better work ethic than Dn...more handsome too.
I never said he had stopped playing at. He can't. That would end the D-list brand. And, PF has fallen farther and harder than any of the others. The two facts are different matters. I would say DN's last reputable efforts were TPC, simply because it was a complete revolt against the gravy train....a sincere attempt (though it was unlistenable), the porn movie he directed....again something new and completely nondependent on his image or music, and of course his doc....which was excellent.

After relistening to several songs off TGEA I realized that the guitar parts are the only thing that has any redeeming qualities at all... some are buried deep in the mix, some are cruelly wasted in shit songs, but really they are the only good thing about it... same goes for the "in the studio" clips...
While it maybe wasn't dave who was behind the original batch that "perry hummed to eric", he certainly has the most ability music-wise left...
If someone put dave in a band with talented people it would be possible to squeeze additional 4 albums worth of value out of him, of course much to his own protestations and against his will and it would probably have to resamble some closed environment "intervention"

Hey, there's a few minutes of great live stuff.. a couple minutes are great studio footage.. plus a nice music video of Frusciante's "Ants" and a performance from that cool roller-skating guy. Take out the awkward dialog/voiceover parts, and you've got a pretty bad-ass 20-minute short film.creep wrote:99.9999% of any movie ever made > GiftSix7Six7 wrote:Mourning Son > GiftSR wrote: I would say DN's last reputable efforts... of course his doc....which was excellent.

ok, in additional to anything political on this board, Dn and his bd's namesake topics are now off limits for me.

Some of the comments amuse me. I think we need to deploy Six7 on these guys.
Any number of 7 year olds on Youtube could dust this guy's rendition of our national anthem, and do it with the respect it deserves.
Let's get Dave Navarro the job he deserves and find him a seat as a co-host of Rupauls Drag Race.
Wow, just when you thought it couldn't get any worse than Rosanne Barr, this guy.
I would rather clean the lint in the corner of my sock drawer than pay any attention to this poser
That was awful.

pathetic little losers. It sounds cool, great tone, cool wah work as always and a hell of a lot better than what Flea pulled at that Lakers game a while ago
