Hey, Paul gets a lot of slack for being uncool or being controlling (in a band context) or something like that, but the guy was an incredible songwriter, and even now once in a while he can come up with a relative gem. I don't know about this song. It's catchy, though a bit slight. "My Valentine" was a pretty good one.Pandemonium wrote:Well, better'n most of the McCartney penned Beatles tunes....Matz wrote:I'm not a huge McCartney fan but it's impressive he can put a song like this together in his age, it's way better than a lot of Beatles songs

I know that most, if not all of you, already know this song... but still, it's worth listening again every once in a while.
So beautiful.

I live in a relatively small town, but the music scene has always been good. lots of different things. the local conservatory usually brings in nice musicians from all across the world, for me to enjoy. usually there are no live recordings but I actually found a high quality video of a gig I attended. I have it on repeat at the moment. nice to wake up to with, with some fresh coffee.

that type of McCartney song I can't get into on any level, I find it annoying. But to each his own and all that, he once said that it's the song he wants to be remembered forLarry B. wrote:I know that most, if not all of you, already know this song... but still, it's worth listening again every once in a while.

I had not listened to these guys in a long time, but the other day I woke up with one of their songs in my head. They only released 2 cd's in the early 90s. One of the members died and that was it. Does anyone else on here listen to them? The band is called The God Machine.
Re: Now Playing...
For the record, I hate Paul McCartney.
But anyway...

One of the unintentionally funny things to come from that record was this UK heavy metal magazine "Kerrang" cover that shows a Conan-esque metalhead cradling a starving African child with the caption "Let Them Eat Metal" that is just all sorts of WTF.Bandit72 wrote:Cheese, but this beats the hell out of Do They Know It's Christmas or We Are The World.
I guess "metal" is rich in minerals starving kids need.

One of my favorite "lost" albums has finally been released on CD this month after nearly 30 years.
Up 'til now, "Belfegore" has never seen a CD release. The band, Belfegore had a promising US debut back in late '84, opened for U2 during part of their tour and was set to open for Hanoi Rocks during their US tour in early '85 when asshole Vince Neil killed Hanoi's drummer Razzle in a drunk driving accident abruptly ending the tour (I had a ticket for that weekend's Hollywood Palladium show) and effectively ending both Hanoi Rocks and Belfegore's career. This was their big single and MTV video off the album:
Another tune off this album:

Could it be that you just really liked the way it was integrated into the movie?
