I found this interesting. Glad they're friendly. I really wish RHCP and Jane's OG lineups would tour together and play some songs with each other.

Seeing Dave and AK together brings back great memories.

yeah absolutely. Love that era of RHCP. It's been downhill from there imo

It really has. BBSM and OHM were very different but outstanding albums. John really mellowed the band out when he returned I guess. I don't know RHCP lore very well. I just know those are the two albums I've been drawn to. Not so much anything after, and a little before.

Good damn I would pay too dollar to see rhcp and og Janes play together.

I met Chad Smith back in May. He was so fucking cool- we talked about Janes and he called the link between the two bands a “brotherhood”.

At the very least, I hope Dave makes a guest appearance and plays aeroplane or something. That would be a trip.

It would be amazing if they would tour together with OG lineups + Pete and with Fishbone.

Play Aeroplane, Warped, Iris, Idiots w/ Flea and Angelo, some P4P...

Remember that show like it was yesterday. Iggy Pop for the encore.
I’m not sure i agree that it was downhill for RHCP from there. OHM was a cool experiment and a fun album and tour. Frush wrote some terrific songs on the next two records and the tours were pretty special. After that the songwriting just went way downhill. I’m a josh fan and enjoyed a lot of the jamming of those years’ shows. Not paying 400 bucks to see the big reunion at a football stadium this summer. That’s for sure.

As for a tour with original bands and lineups, hell, I’d take nutstalk/trulio disgracious any time. But if your dream tour does come off, don’t let it happen without Thelonious Monster.

Coffee Shop and Shallow Be Thy Game are standouts on that album. I recently went back and listened to it all and Deep Kick is killer as well. And if listen closely to the lyrics, you've read half of Flea's book .

Agreed on Chad, especially BSSM. Breaking The Girl is a standout in percussive creativity.

I checked out some of the notation for BSSM a couple of days ago and realized that the album is almost a progressive rock album, at least certain songs can fit into that category, it has songs with four key changes or something like that, odd time stuff, pretty sophisticated harmony (outro to Sir psycho and Breaking the girl for instance). They were on such a high level then.
