PBS put together a viewers' list of 100 top reads where people can vote on a favorite. Voting runs from May 22 - Oct 18. It's an eclectic group and there many worthy/unworthy choices.
(I can't believe Fifty Shades of Gray is listed. WTH). I voted for A Confederacy of Dunces.

Vote: The Great American Read
Re: Vote: The Great American Read
I can't believe the Twilght Saga and a V.C. Andrews book is listed. I've enjoyed those books as "light" reads, but I certainly wouldn't rank them as anything more than entertaining..lol.
I voted for Maurio Puzo 'The Godfather'

Re: Vote: The Great American Read
I've never been an avid book reader so I was surprised at how many of these I've read. Mostly everything except the goofy shit like Twilight and 50 Shades of Gray, you know, chick-flick books.
At first it looked like all these are books that were adapted into movies or tv, but I don't think that's the case.
I'd probably put Catch-22 or Grapes of Wrath my favorites out of that bunch.
A couple those were part of my high school curriculum, A Separate Piece and Tom Sawyer.
