Losers feat. Brian Molko (from Placebo) - Summertime Rolls
Losers feat. Brian Molko (from Placebo) - Summertime Rolls
I had no idea that this cover existed. I'm just listening to it right now for the first time. What do you think?
Re: Losers feat. Brian Molko (from Placebo) - Summertime Rol
I quite liked it until the "she sings a song" part.
I honestly forgot how much I liked Summertime Rolls. Perry used to be such an incredible poet, and the band so capable of sonically capturing a mood or moment in time. I'm not sure they have another song that so perfectly encapsulates what I'm describing.

Yep. When it went all "oontz oontz" it stopped being good.Hokahey wrote:I quite liked it until the "she sings a song" part.

I'm a huge Placebo fan and had no idea this existed. I somewhat wish I still didn't - Brian sounds awful.
But thanks for posting.

I think I'm one of the few that didn't hate that song.Six7Six7 wrote:Yep. When it went all "oontz oontz" it stopped being good.Hokahey wrote:I quite liked it until the "she sings a song" part.

Seriously?
I think Placebo is one of the worst bands in the world (ok, I kinda like Bruise Pristine but I can't stand that Brian guy)

*7 pages about how some of TGEA was good musically*
Ahhh ok back to the present. Good talk guys!

I'm of the same opinion, which is why I found it interesting that Bowie was 'betting' on them by working with them. Makes me want to listen to what Bowie thought was attractive about their sound, but at the same time I have no strength to actually do it. It could've simply been one of Bowie's blunders.Mescal wrote:phenobarb_bambalam wrote:I'm a huge Placebo fan and had no idea this existed. I somewhat wish I still didn't - Brian sounds awful.

Worst band in the world? that's ridiculous. I'm not a huge fan but I think they have some really solid songs here and there. Billy Corgan is a fan too by the way
Re: Losers feat. Brian Molko (from Placebo) - Summertime Rol
I really like this, but it's a bit too faithful to the original. If I want to hear that, I'll listen to the original. I want to hear an interpretation that puts a unique spin on it. The addition of beats doesn't really do that. Brian's voice is very, very similar to Perry's, hitting the notes in very similar ways. So, a bit boring.
This one's not my favourite style of music, but at least it's interesting:
