lollapalooza 17
Re: lollapalooza 17
Not like perry made it up...Just an apt descriptive word...i see why others use it
Re: lollapalooza 17
No he didn't invent the word but he definitely put it on the map back in 1991. No one would be using that term for everything the past 25 years if it wasnt for Perry.
Re: lollapalooza 17
Yeah, we'd still be talking about the US festival.

I'm not even sure Perry came up with the name originally. I think he credits a manager in some past video.

Re: lollapalooza 17
fuuuuuuck.... what year was it that we all went and hung out????? 2005???
That was over a decade ago....
This destination festival has been around longer, and is more iconic than the original lollapalooza.
what happened???????????

Re: lollapalooza 17
Yeah, I would rather go to Grant Park in Chicago than... the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds in Rosenberg, Texas.
Re: lollapalooza 17
I saw PJ in 92 at the Show. They were amazing. They opened the show and no one came close to measuring up.
Re: lollapalooza 17
I've corrected you before on this...but Lush opened....plus ministry, Soundgarden and porno were pretty fucking great too...and the temple of the dog mini set...Jesus Christ that's so long ago now
Re: lollapalooza 17
Yeah, Eddie Vedder in the photo above is a boy. Now he is a chunk of coal.kv wrote:I've corrected you before on this...but Lush opened....plus ministry, Soundgarden and porno were pretty fucking great too...and the temple of the dog mini set...Jesus Christ that's so long ago now
Re: lollapalooza 17

Re: lollapalooza 17
Maybe you showed up late
The tour poster is the correct stage lineup and it says lush first...As I remember it was lush, pj then temple of the dog mini set

Re: lollapalooza 17
Eddie gets a little out of control at the end of this....Palladium, rage against the machine opened...PJ blew up between when I'd bought tickets and the show happened...I had thought the show would be cancelled for a larger venue...They played SNL like a week later...Props to them for playing instead of making more money elsewhere
Re: lollapalooza 17
yes. It was. I could be wrong. My soon to be wife was at the restroom when they went on; I was freaking out that they started without her there. It was daylight stillkv wrote:I've corrected you before on this...but Lush opened....plus ministry, Soundgarden and porno were pretty fucking great too...and the temple of the dog mini set...Jesus Christ that's so long ago now

The Riot Fest lineup in Chicago is 1000x better

Man, forget the headliners... Gogol Bordello and Dino Jr and X and Death from Above!creep wrote:The Riot Fest lineup in Chicago is 1000x better

Re: lollapalooza 17
That's a pretty decent lineup. X's guitarist Billy Zoom has been battling cancer lately, I dunno if he's well enough to be back in the lineup or not. And speaking of bands that I thought were kapput, I thought Ministry hanged up it about 5 years ago after Al Jourgeson's health was taking a really bad turn and guitarist Mike Scaccia died.Matz wrote:Jawbreaker!? Jawbreaker:
They suck. They are one of those death-of-alternative late 90s bands.
