Although it's a bit too much on the moppy side, there's much to like, her voice, the organ backing, etc.AdmitI wrote:http://poppyjeancrawford.bandcamp.com/releases

Queue the "better then anything Perry has done in 20 years" crowd

But her voice is beautiful
Re: Casey's daughters music page
... Florence and the Machine style... That's the thing every female vocalist is going for these days... like Siouxsie Sioux and the Cocteau Twins took tranquilizers.
It's a really well orchestrated track though. And she has a great voice. Just noting similarities...

Re: Casey's daughters music page
Soulful, hauntingly sincere, great voice and intuition. Love it
Re: Casey's daughters music page
Wow, wasn't expecting to be impressed. Very nice voice and well-written.
Re: Casey's daughters music page
Nice tune and a neat, simple arrangement. Her voice sounds good. I hope she makes more, and I hope the interesting elements don't get ironed out.
Re: Casey's daughters music page
There's more music... and it's really, really good. I think Tall Hand is like a bizarro Classic Girl sung by Siouxsie Sioux... and Xue is just great.

Video Directed by Casey Niccoli -
This makes me happy, after all these years, to see her style come through this video while working with her Beautiful daughter.
Re: Casey's daughters music page
Not a good song, and quite a bad video unfortunately.
Re: Casey's daughters music page
Definitely her sense of humor. I really enjoyed it.Squee wrote: This makes me happy, after all these years, to see her style come through this video while working with her Beautiful daughter.
Re: Casey's daughters music page
It's not my favourite song in the bunch -- it sounds like a PJ Harvey / Siouxsie Sioux outtake -- but it's my kinda music, and I like the video a lot.
Re: Casey's daughters music page
She has a new video up on her youtube channel which was one of her songs she had on Bandcamp
Just found this too
Then this...anything Casey still stokes me

Re: Casey's daughters music page
it's great to see artistic talent is inherited! Casey must be so proud!!
Re: Casey's daughters music page
Am I the only one who sees no appeal in this? From out-of-tune guitar to boring and seemingly pointless music, to me this is no different than what some of my friends wrote when we were in school. I.e., pointless music. A neat exercise for a teenager, but with very little artistic value.
Re: Casey's daughters music page
But, if there was no appeal to it for you, what drove you to click the thread, watch videos and then comment?
Naw man... it's just a kid starting...fun to see Casey's spawn being artistic..it's nothing great but I'll put it against anything perry and spawns manages

You're right, I forgot all about my ability to foresee whether I like a song before even listening to it.kv wrote:But, if there was no appeal to it for you, what drove you to click the thread, watch videos and then comment?

Re: Casey's daughters music page
To the guy who's all "no merit" blah blah. You're a total asshole. Poppy Jean is a very young talent - I've known her since she was 12. She played her first song down the phone to me when she was 14. This week she turned 18. Last night I saw her play in LA with her band and to see the progression and development of a child into a young adult is so amazing. So, Mr Dismissive, maybe you should direct your horrible negative comments elsewhere. Do you have children? Somehow I doubt it, or you wouldn't be so quick to dismiss a young woman as her art grows and changes.
Re: Casey's daughters music page
Regardless, his opinion is his own. If he doesn't like it that's his right...And to be fair would you rather his comments be in this dark lonely corner of the internet or in the comment section of the YouTube video? This really is the best place no? Thanks for posting though...Your real life connection gives you every right to defend her in this fashion.
Re: Casey's daughters music page
Yeah, no. If she wants to be a known artist, she's going to have to deal with those that don't care for her art. His opinion was provided in a harsh manner, at all.SofiaForever wrote:To the guy who's all "no merit" blah blah. You're a total asshole.
