Re: Live shows in your agenda?
I saw Dave when he did the Radio City shows...he did around 90 minutes the first night, but that was also with him messing with the people in the front row, etc...he's probably on fire with that material now...I co-sign Juana's post; if you're into stand-up Dave is a must see...Juana wrote:It was about 70 minutes or so. All new material as well.creep wrote:does he do a normal length show now or does he still go on and on for hours?
Re: Live shows in your agenda?
I think Dave played Madison the same night as the Pixies when I was there. I .. couldn't in good conscience miss the Pixies' last show of that tour. So now I have to wait for Dave to get to Toronto.

Thinking of getting Rush cheap seats. Maybe Van Halen. Marilyn Manson & SP cheap seats up on Groupon for 19$ LOL. Still going to pass on that one.

I'm going to see Joaquin Sabina in May. I really wanted to see the Stones.

Flying back to LA for the mac on Friday....can't wait to see Christie McVie with them. Taking my remaining sister and her son as a tribute to my lost siss...her fave band. 10th row at the Forum. Looking forward to seeing the new place.

Re: Live shows in your agenda?
I recommend Mew, some of their songs are great, they opened for NIN years ago in the US. They're from Denmark and play some pretty complex prog rock. but....they're not for everybody, the singer's voice is a bit on the unusual side. Very skilled musicians though

So, due to illness (throat problems)Robert Plant cancelled the Toronto show and rescheduled to Sept 15th.Artemis wrote:Just got tickets on the pre-sale for Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters with Pixies on June 7th.
The Pixies;however, are still playing at a small, 400 person capacity venue! Tickets went for $20! I'm so bummed I missed the announcement last night. The tickets went on sale at 10pm, and needless to say, sold out immediately!

Similar thing happened to me back in '90 or '91 - Sonic Youth was supporting Neil Young(!) and Young developed some sort of ear infection and cancelled the LA show but Sonic Youth booked a day show at the Roxy for the day off which my friends and I managed to score tickets for.Artemis wrote:So, due to illness (throat problems)Robert Plant cancelled the Toronto show and rescheduled to Sept 15th.Artemis wrote:Just got tickets on the pre-sale for Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters with Pixies on June 7th.

Got tickets today for The Church on Aug 7.
Re: Live shows in your agenda?
Just got tickets for the Animal Collective show in Manchester on April 13. Quite happy.
And if Manchester United make it to the semi-finals of the Europa League (wishful thinking), I just might stay for an extra day to catch their match on April 14.

My 2016 concerts so far...
Nina Hagen
Leon Bridges
Savages
Thao & The Get Down Stay Down
The Cure
PJ Harvey is releasing a new album in the spring and announced a couple of festival dates. I hope she comes to North America too...would love to see her. It's been more than 10 years since she was last in Toronto.
I will likely catch one or all of the Gary Numan shows in May. He's doing 3 classic albums shows - REPLICAS -THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLE -TELEKON. Tickets should be going on sale soon for that.
