Game of Thrones (HBO)
Re: Game of Thrones (HBO)
I didn’t say anything and ES just said Daenerys. Sensitive much?
Re: Game of Thrones (HBO)
C'mon, people who haven't read the books and/or watched the leaks don't want to know anything about it, including Dany being in deep shit by episode four and Stannis being even more of a badass. The leaks shouldn't override the non-spoilery nature of the thread.
You could always start a third thread, "Game of Thrones thread for people who have watched the GoT leaks and/or read the books, but agree not to discuss anything from the books past the timeline of the leaks".

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO)
Or a thread for people who don't check the internet.
Re: Game of Thrones (HBO)
I watched the third episode last night because I'll be really busy tonight and tomorrow and I've got to try to go to bed early. It was a good episode. I had to try really hard not to watch the fourth one. Luckily I fell asleep, and I now realize that I'd have fallen asleep even if I'd started in on it. I've passed through the high risk zone, so I don't think I'll have any problem waiting a week to watch ep. 4. Better than waiting two weeks.
Re: Game of Thrones (HBO)
Last night I watched episode four, so I'm all caught up on the leaks. I enjoyed it. Good pacing. Lots of things moving forward and various things being set up.
Re: Game of Thrones (HBO)
Is it just me or doesn't anyone else find it weird watching a GoT actor/actress out of their characters? The other day I saw a trailer with the guy who plays Ser Jorah, even though he looked the same, it was so weird to hear him speak in common English. Same with Kit Harrington aka Jon Snow. Just saw a picture of him without his long locks and beard.
I do enjoy watching Bronn's other show (Ripper Street) whenever I remember. Didn't know he had a brief relationship with Lena aka Cersei:

Flynn was reportedly linked to Game of Thrones co-star Lena Headey, however the relationship ended on bad terms, resulting in the couple being kept apart on-set.
Re: Game of Thrones (HBO)
I thought it was going to be something else, but it was pretty cool and with lots of blood Plus, the Sand Snakes (Oberyn's daughters) were great, although I pictured them sexier and more badass. Guess we will see...perkana wrote:If they are sticking with the books, I knowEssence_Smith wrote:OK OK OK...so I watched the leaks...I'm not gonna spoil it...but Daenerys is in some deep shit right about nows...the ending of episode 4...
edit: was tonight's episode 3 or 4? I don't remember

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO)
I haven't seen it, I've just seen those pics.
Anyway, the most recent episode was really good. It sucks that the first time we really get to see why Barristan Selmy is such a legendary badass, he ends up dying. We really had to wait a long time to see him do some serious battling, and I wanted to see him do some more. At least he dispatched a whole bunch of those Sons of Harpy before he died. To paraphrase Beowulf, he was a good knight!

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO)
I'm still not so sure that he died...yeah, he was wounded. Grey Worm should better live too.

do you remember all of their names and the spelling or do you have to look them up?Jasper wrote:I haven't seen it, I've just seen those pics.

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO)
It depends. I had no trouble remembering his name, but I think I spelled it Barriston or something, then when I went to grab a photo I saw that I was one letter off, so I fixed it. Now you know.creep wrote:do you remember all of their names and the spelling or do you have to look them up?
It seemed like he might have sort of maybe possibly hanging onto life, but then Grey Worm checks him real quickly, and it seems like a confirmation that he's dead.perkana wrote:I'm still not so sure that he died...yeah, he was wounded. Grey Worm should better live too.
I thought the one with the short hair was super sexy. I didn't like the speech by the one who speared the guy in the head. I thought it was really corny.perkana wrote:the Sand Snakes (Oberyn's daughters) were great, although I pictured them sexier and more badass. Guess we will see...

It was the 4th episode.

I'm telling you, the bastards killed him off. I don't want to believe it either. I'll be happy to be wrong.perkana wrote:I still don't buy itJasper wrote:It seemed like he might have sort of maybe possibly hanging onto life, but then Grey Worm checks him real quickly, and it seems like a confirmation that he's dead.perkana wrote:I'm still not so sure that he died...yeah, he was wounded. Yeah, I know the sword went thru him, but I'm still hoping he'll pull through

The disease [greyscale]—a highly contagious one—not only toughens and greys the skin, but can spread inward to harden the victims’ insides.Viewers don’t need to know every specific of the book version of this disease—there are fatal and non-fatal kinds, it can go slow or quick—but they do need to understand the stigma associated with it. The closest real-world equivalent is leprosy and the environment of fear and ignorance around how greyscale works is why poor Shireen is treated like an outcast by her own mother.
Re: Game of Thrones (HBO)
Totally unnecessary. I don't know why they did that.perkana wrote:RIP Ser Barristan
I think her mother's got more problems than just that.perkana wrote:The closest real-world equivalent is leprosy and the environment of fear and ignorance around how greyscale works is why poor Shireen is treated like an outcast by her own mother.
Re: Game of Thrones (HBO)
I was enjoying this episode until it ended. Now it's one of my least favorites (my least favorite would be when Ned is beheaded).
Re: Game of Thrones (HBO)
tonight's episode was my favorite of the season so far. the previews for the next episode look to be jon snow heavy which (for me) is disappointing. winter has been coming for four years now.
Re: Game of Thrones (HBO)
Whenever Stannis or Jon say Winter is coming, I want to smack them.

This episode was the most boring of the season..creep wrote:tonight's episode was my favorite of the season so far. the previews for the next episode look to be jon snow heavy which (for me) is disappointing. winter has been coming for four years now.
Re: Game of Thrones (HBO)
It was slow, the only story I didn't like was Dorne's. I'm still disappointed in those Sand Snakes. Shitty accent and dialogue.
Re: Game of Thrones (HBO)
you guys are nuts. where is jasper to agree with me that it was the best episode of the season so far and prove me right?
