Lionel Messi

#1 Post by Larry B. » Wed Mar 21, 2012 7:09 am

Since yesterday, the top-scorer for Barcelona in all its history. In only 8 years he surpassed a record that took the previous owner 13 years to complete. Watch all his goals so far (234):

Best soccer player alive and one of the best ever. And he's only 24 years old... god damn'.

he is unreal. Roberto Baggio is still my favorite player of all time, but Messi is one of the best ever.

As Gary Linekar said.

"I should never be mentioned in the same sentence as Messi ever. He did 6 different things in one game that I never did in my entire career"

   That's pretty fucking great.

After his 5 goals against Leverkusen, Guardiola said something like 'Throughout my entire career I scored 11 goals and this little guy comes in and scores almost half of that in just one game."

I don't think I'm wrong. I think if you compare the two, Messi is much more explosive on short distances and he's a better dribler, but not much better. What Messi doesn't have is Laudrup's vision and unbelieveable passes. And that's an amazing quality to have and it's amazing to watch. I've never seen anyone play like that, either before him or after. He was like the David Gilmour of football and to me he's probably the best ever.

And, if he had been from Sweden even, I would have said the same thing.

Right now, no one is even close to Messi's level. There's a few who are pretty damn good that are above 99% of people, and then above them is Messi and I even hate Barcelona so there ya go.

it's exactly this. laudrup was fucking great, messi has more magic. even Messi's opponents say "thank you for tonight's game" after they've been washed off the field.

serves ronaldo (and madrid) right. they're having a superb season, but someone's just (as good and) a little more sympathetic.
