Just saw Blitzen Trapper and The Black Lips
seeing:
Yuck
Joy Formidable
The Horrors
Black Angels/Dead Meadow/Spindrift just got announced which I'm fucking pumped about.
And just yesterday Meat Puppets got announced which I'm even more excited about!
All in all I can't complain considering I live in St. Louis not quite the concert mecca of the world or even the midwest for that matter, shit even the state, lol.
electronics (maybe a little bit shitty?) Mexican band...I'm not into them, at least you weren't stuck at a Zoé show (I fucking hate their guts)
Someone I work with called them a Mexican Depeche Mode... I'd say that wasn't too far off.
They were pleasant enough and their music had moments that were almost rocking, too bad it didn't sell very well.
The worst Latin band I can remember ever working was La Ley...just really awful crap. I did meet a very cute girl at that show though, so it wasn't a total loss.
Alice in Chains was added to Maquinaria. Even though there are some somewhat "big names" in the festival, I'm only thrilled by Faith No More. I will most likely not go to the other date.
I got tickets to the "Road recovery" benefit honoring Slash Sept 20th, Perry's been to all the other ones. I wonder if he'll show up for this one (the Janes tour schedule doesn't interfere)
I would love to see them again, too bad it's the end.
It was brilliant mate... i haven't done a pit like that for years... it was absolutely mental. 9th time i saw them and, yep, the last like you say. Word is that 2 of them fell out majorly and i gotta say that there wasn't too much closeness on show, but the performance was still excellent. Great band... just lost their way unfortunately.
Just got an email saying that there will be a DVD of the Leeds show, just watched the video of "Freedom Fighters" on you tube, awesome. It's so sad - they are so talented and young. Love them and will get that DVD for sure.
I've been awaiting these tour dates from Thee Oh Sees, but now that they're here I am not amused.

I'll probably work that gig... want me to steal some of their dirty laundry or something?
How 'bout if they say, "hey, could you drive us over to the such and such?" and you just kinda drive them across the country instead? It'll be fun...like you're Clark Griswald in Vacation. Christie Brinkley's still hot.

Ha!
Well, they will be performing on an island in the middle of the Bay from which there is only one road off. If you can negotiate for no questions asked transport of a sea air land container to your location, maybe I can accidentally pull a van load of 'em into such a container (Port of Oakland is a stone's throw away and filled with said containers and ships) while they are asleep/incapacitated and... there you go.

Wow!I don't know that I'd seen any recent pics of her...
Incubus tomorrow.
Wednesday I went to a free Lenny Kravitz show at T5. Same deal as Janes did but this was for Samsung/AT&T and some new 4G phone. Maaaaaaaaaaaaaan cellphone companies have $$$ to burn!

I am amenable to this solution. creep will be delivering $40,000 U.S. cash on my behalf, with the remaining $60,000 to be delivered upon completion.
I don't recognize 90% of the bands that come through town anymore. I missed TVOTR and Das Racist which sucks. My only big event coming up is the St. Louis Rams season opener next weekend. I'm pretty fucking stoked though to do some tailgating and watch a good game.
Friend of mine got us tix to see A Winged Victory for the Sullen in November. He's really into them and I'm going for the hell of it. Should be pretty interesting though.
