Live shows in your agenda?
Re: Live shows in your agenda?
LOl I wonder what ever became of that band Janes Addiction
Yeah they're still around & playing a Rich Russo show at the Bowery Electric. Rich Russo's radio show was (is) called Anything Anything. Show is only $10 with 2 local bands opening

Re: Live shows in your agenda?
BMSR is the only thing on my agenda, but it's my #1 show to see, so my agenda actually seems pretty great:

Otherwise it's just deafening bar bands, which, where I go, usually means jazz-funk freakout outfits.

Is this all because of Romeo's "firewall" problem? Time to ban Romeo.
Re: Live shows in your agenda?
ok..i will disable it then. the other code just stopped working it had nothing too do with romeo. i'm no expert but if someone has a working bbcode that embeds the videos like on xiola let me know.Jasper wrote:LAME.creep wrote:maybe read the youtube thread that explains how to do it??

Joy Formidable
The Horrors
Black Angels/Dead Meadow/Spindrift just got announced which I'm fucking pumped about.
And just yesterday Meat Puppets got announced which I'm even more excited about!
All in all I can't complain considering I live in St. Louis not quite the concert mecca of the world or even the midwest for that matter, shit even the state, lol.

Someone I work with called them a Mexican Depeche Mode... I'd say that wasn't too far off.perkana wrote:electronics (maybe a little bit shitty?) Mexican band...I'm not into them, at least you weren't stuck at a Zoé show (I fucking hate their guts)MYXYLPLYX wrote:

They were pleasant enough and their music had moments that were almost rocking, too bad it didn't sell very well.
The worst Latin band I can remember ever working was La Ley...just really awful crap. I did meet a very cute girl at that show though, so it wasn't a total loss.

They're Chilean, and they're terrible indeed.MYXYLPLYX wrote: The worst Latin band I can remember ever working was La Ley...just really awful crap.
Re: Live shows in your agenda?
Alice in Chains was added to Maquinaria. Even though there are some somewhat "big names" in the festival, I'm only thrilled by Faith No More. I will most likely not go to the other date.
Re: Live shows in your agenda?
I got tickets to the "Road recovery" benefit honoring Slash Sept 20th, Perry's been to all the other ones. I wonder if he'll show up for this one (the Janes tour schedule doesn't interfere)
Re: Live shows in your agenda?
Black Star next month
Re: Live shows in your agenda?
Just got an email saying that there will be a DVD of the Leeds show, just watched the video of "Freedom Fighters" on you tube, awesome. It's so sad - they are so talented and young. Love them and will get that DVD for sure.Japhy wrote:It was brilliant mate... i haven't done a pit like that for years... it was absolutely mental. 9th time i saw them and, yep, the last like you say. Word is that 2 of them fell out majorly and i gotta say that there wasn't too much closeness on show, but the performance was still excellent. Great band... just lost their way unfortunately.Warped wrote:I would love to see them again, too bad it's the end.Japhy wrote:The Music tonight in Leeds.

I'll probably work that gig... want me to steal some of their dirty laundry or something?
Re: Live shows in your agenda?
How 'bout if they say, "hey, could you drive us over to the such and such?" and you just kinda drive them across the country instead? It'll be fun...like you're Clark Griswald in Vacation. Christie Brinkley's still hot.MYXYLPLYX wrote:Jasper wrote: 10/16/2011 Treasure Island Music Festival

Well, they will be performing on an island in the middle of the Bay from which there is only one road off. If you can negotiate for no questions asked transport of a sea air land container to your location, maybe I can accidentally pull a van load of 'em into such a container (Port of Oakland is a stone's throw away and filled with said containers and ships) while they are asleep/incapacitated and... there you go.
Wow!I don't know that I'd seen any recent pics of her...Jasper wrote:Christie Brinkley's still hot.
She is holding it together quite well.
