Right on. If Phil got 2 top 10 pics in this draft on top of the Knicks pick by trading Porzingas then he would've been a genius. Asking price was too steep, didn't happen. Rumor has it he wanted to buy out Melo and Dolan canned him instead. Knicks are finally heading in the right direction and they have all their #1 picks so, thanks Phil!kv wrote:April 19, 2014 blackula predicts the future...

Re: NBA
I'm sick of this "superteam" buzzword.
I'm sick of Lebron to the Lakers next year, why would Lebron EVER leave the East? Wouldn't you rather lose in the finals than in the second round? The East is an easy path to the finals where at least you have a fighting chance.
Maybe I'm just a bitter NYer, lol, the Nets will suck for years from getting fleeced by Boston and the Knicks are at a crossroads. Anyone think Melo's last contract was forced on Phil by the owner?

I'm sick of Lebron too. The Raptors will never advance as long as he stays with Cleveland.blackula wrote:

Re: NBA
I like that better then the hill talk...hard for us to get anyone since we are just offering single year contracts...as for heyward I figured he'd end up there...I have never cared for him so seeing him in green fits for me
Re: NBA
If they can land Crawford then I think we will have a decent shitty team next season while Lonzo and co learn yo play with one another. Crawford and Lopez are both good vets that will teach the youngins how to approach the game.
As for Hayward the dude is reuniting with one of his mentors, can't hate on that even if it means he is going to the Shammies. Also its very doubtful that HE is going to put them over the edge against Bronny Drama and the Cavs.

Re: NBA
Didn't last too long before Ingram got shut down until training camp. He is still practicing though. He looked leagues better than last years summer league. Ball looked pretty out of sorts but it was his first game hopefully it was just jitterskv wrote:Lakers summer league starts tonight...stoked to see Ball and Ingram on the same court
Re: NBA
Triple double
He could have had another 5-6 assists easy if people made their shots...draft picks look solid
As for Ingram being shut down, kinda sucks magic being overprotective...but fuck not like he needs to prove anything anyway...once we stopped forcing Brandon to stay outside and let him slash to the basket at will it was on...love that kid def my fav Laker right now
Future looking bright..I have us winning 33-35 this year with current roster...whatcha think Juana?

Re: NBA
I'm really thinking 35-47 honestly maybe close to .500 if Lopez stays healthy. I like Hart and Kuzma looked pretty good. Lonzo set people up for good looks but like you said missed shots. I was hoping to see more out of Zubac but supposedly after summer league he is supposed to work out with Cap so hopefully that will help his development. Nwaba looked pretty good as well.kv wrote:Triple double

As for Ingram he looks good looks like he put on some weight and not playing like an unsure rookie. Always have to remember the kid is only 19, coaching staff says it looks like he has grown 1-2 inches too, he reminds me so much of Giannis at this point. He and Lonzo will be fun to watch, though I'm still concerned about Lonzo's shot and that teams will sag off him and not let him drive and kick.
Re: NBA
Ya good point about not letting him drive and kick....that's prob my favorite thing about him...so hoping that doesn't happen...last year we'd always just pass the ball along the 3 line instead of drive inside and pass out which is the shaq way that always worked... inside to shaq and he'd either outside it back to fish or horry or he'd take it to the rim...love that style...hate how seldom we'd do it in recent years...but ya we aren't hitting good enough from 3 to warrant the pressure that allows it....solid point......ya lonzo will have rookie growing pains for sure.....soooo glad we shipped Russel though I love this fast passed court run...but ya just summer league will be interesting to see if we can during the reg season...I'd be surprised as fuck if we got near.500 for the year...but I'm def not opposed to it happening!
Re: NBA
That is actually a good trade for the Raptors. Miles is a better defender and he shot 68% on spot up attempts last couple seasons which with Lowry and DeRozan they kind of need that to help space the floor a little especially if they plan on playing big as Valanciunas clogs up the driving lines for both of them.Artemis wrote:I just read that we're losing Cory Joseph to the Pacers and getting CJ Miles. Not sad about losing Demarre Carroll to Brooklyn. Most of the time he was injured and hardly played.
Re: NBA
Yeah the inside out game along with the fast break high pace is going to be fun to watch Luke work that into the system. As much as Luke wants to play like the Dubs we just do not have Steph/Klay/KD to be able to pass it along the 3 point line and rely on down screens etc. I hope we get close to .500 since the Shammies have our pick if anything to fuck them out of a high pickkv wrote:Ya good point about not letting him drive and kick....that's prob my favorite thing about him...so hoping that doesn't happen...last year we'd always just pass the ball along the 3 line instead of drive inside and pass out which is the shaq way that always worked... inside to shaq and he'd either outside it back to fish or horry or he'd take it to the rim...love that style...hate how seldom we'd do it in recent years...but ya we aren't hitting good enough from 3 to warrant the pressure that allows it....solid point......ya lonzo will have rookie growing pains for sure.....soooo glad we shipped Russel though I love this fast passed court run...but ya just summer league will be interesting to see if we can during the reg season...I'd be surprised as fuck if we got near.500 for the year...but I'm def not opposed to it happening!
