Re: NBA
Zach's been locking down the last few games.
Amazing what happens when they consistently play with urgency!

Re: NBA
The win streak killing games have been the best ones this season.
Sadly, it's that all too familiar narrative we've been dealing with for years where we have to worry about the scrub teams over the top ones.
Re: NBA
Yeah, I agree that Toronto doesn't seem to be tanking on purpose....yet.Artemis wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 6:20 pmI guess tanking isn't the right word. I don't think they're intentionally trying to lose. On the plus side, still lots of games left to play. I'm sure Masai Ujiri is working on some trades.clickie wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 4:20 pmArtemis wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 11:18 amThe Raptors have been tanking. We are 16-22 and 12th place in the eastern standings.
The season started off very promising then the injuries and inconsistent playing. Otto Porter Turner Jr has turned out to be a dud. I don't think he's even played 10 games. Khem Birch also injury prone. I'm surprised he wasn't traded.
The other night that game against the Bucks was crazy! Very low scoring 1st quarter, like 12 points. When the Rapters were down about 15, I was sure it was over and went to wash dishes. When I came back to check the score there was .08 left and the score was tied, then OT. We lost by 3. We've had several games like that, so close but not enough.
Tonight the Knicks will be in the 6.
Tanking usually means losing on purpose though right? I hope they're not doing that already it's a long season. Anyway it's funny you spelled them the Rapters.
I'm still surprised that you guys signed OPJ. I don't feel like he fits the team at all.
Re: NBA
Rozen plays us so well. And then w/out him we are close to giving it up. Hope his injury isn't serious
Re: NBA
Good game last night! I hope Demar is okay.

I really hope Masai's got something good cooking before the trade deadline.Toronto Raptors forward Otto Porter Jr. is seeing his first season with the team come to an end before it ever really got a chance to get started.
On Tuesday, the team announced that Porter would be undergoing a season-ending injury on his left foot, after dealing with a dislocated toe throughout much of the season.
Signing as a free agent in the summer weeks after winning the NBA title with the Golden State Warriors, Porter had played in just eight games for the Raptors and had been sidelined since November 14.
“This was a tough decision for Otto, he had hoped to avoid surgery, but ultimately a decision had to be made to ensure his long-term health,” Raptors general manager Bobby Webster said. “We look forward to his healthy recovery.”
Porter averaged 5.5 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 18.3 minutes in eight games this season. He is on a two-year contract with Toronto worth $13.2 million over the course of two seasons.
Re: NBA
He's a force no doubt. There hasn't been much out yet other than it being a quad injury he had supposedly been playing with for the last week. I just know that it had to really be hurting enough for him to come out for the remainder of the game....
Re: NBA
Yeesh. Otto can't catch a break with injuries. It was the same when he was in Chicago where he'd pick up steam and momentum only to be sidelined again for a lengthy period.Artemis wrote: ↑Tue Jan 10, 2023 4:30 pmGood game last night! I hope Demar is okay.
