NBA
Re: NBA
On a day and a half rest with travel, but, we had rest for the Bucks and tanked game 1 . Thank! Really relieved to be past Milwaukee for all the obvious reasons. As objectively as I can be, we really outplayed them and are the better team. Miami is a concern; they remind me of the Pats...just a machine, but I like the matchups a lot more and Williams 3 will likely see time. 18 is a real possibility.

Turns out a lot of people I know knew him or his family. Everyone has nice things to say. If we can't have a team in MO, I suppose rooting for him is the next best thing. I love the NBA. I was a massive Bulls/Jordan fan growing up. It helped being able to watch every game on WGN. I think the Pacers are the closest geographically to St. Louis, but I tend to forget they exist.

Nice. From as much as can be seen, he appears to be a pretty grounded guy. He is a devoted pop (his son is never far away), Either is his mom. Just prior to his huge payday, she lived in the same apartment complex. She raised him alone, and he's quite loyal to her.Hokahey wrote: ↑Fri May 20, 2022 4:50 pmTurns out a lot of people I know knew him or his family. Everyone has nice things to say. Yesterday, I was listening to the LA sports radio show, Mason & Ireland. Ireland is a really big player in the Laker scene here. He's duel employed by ESPN and by the Lakers as a play by play announcer. So, another ESPN dude was lamenting that his brother (they both grew up in LA and are devout Laker fans), said he was leaning green as he loved how they play, Everyone was giving all the reasons why it wasn't ok. Ireland referenced a conversation he had with Jerry West who said he didn't own anything green...nothing. The color made him physically ill .
I think part of the mixed bag feeling by Laker fans is that they could have had him. He was on the table when they opted for Lonzo Ball.
Re: NBA
No, he's a nice kid...has zero to do with us not being able to have him..it's he is on Boston and fuck Boston...that's it
The mixed bag if anything is we have no history with any of the guys on Boston ATM...but that was like 08 until we played and then all the softcores hated Boston again
And hoka...you jump on every fucking bandwagon you can ..oh St Louis is good in hockey this year? Big fan...Celtics looking good? ya know ever since I was a kid blah blah...stfu damn band wagoners...pick a team, go down with your ship...I bet you're an epic hop scotch player

Re: NBA
Scott Foster strikes again! They don't call him the extender for nothing...
I kid, I didn't watch the game... did see Boston and Miami were sperated by a single made basket aside from the 38 to 14 in free throws..but again I didn't watch..sometimes teams don't push the paint enough to get foul calls just odd foster ref'd games have meant 5-0 for the the C's and 0-2 for the heat...
makes me think of the refs I've always hated tended to be the ones the league says are the best...does more games equal better? It does if you are the NBA...I know the nba would send Crawford to LA whenever we needed one...
the best refs to the league are the ones where the home team wins and we go 7? for a third time I didn't watch it could be just...

Re: NBA
There were butt trumpet calls and I'll take every single one of them. We're not in the rarified air of LeBron, Harden, G, and KD live in where they hook and jab elbows but end up at the line every time. It's really unfortunate, but shit calls are as much a part of the game as a Wilson bball and a 10 foot basket. Refs should be required to take q's post game and forced to watch film just like the players. Fuck, I have never seen a player targeted for bs calls more than Theis over a period of years. The Heat didn't have a field goal until just over 2 minutes in the first frame either. C's d was lockdown, and the Heat kinda layed an egg. The vast alternating intensity of this series is unsettling. Never seen it before in a series.
Tatum's choice of pregame threads sportin MJ and Kobe was interesting. Kid has confidence.
