Just picked these up last night for less than $20 total at Gamestop. Pretty fucking stoked:

This can be the console video game thread as opposed to the PC thread.

Hokahey good lookin' out on that Wii Klonoa remake, Child of Eden (trippy-ass game) and Baroque...but be ready for absolute Hell with Baroque as that's a dungeon crawler that shows no mercy.

While I have a PS3 and Wii (and will get a 360 one day), I've been trying to get through my Backlog. I'm still playing Sega Saturn imports, N64, Dreamcast, PS1 and PS2 titles. One day I'll get to the PS3 generation...but by then PS4, Xbox 720 and Wii U will probably be out!

Currently almost finished with:

In the world of gaming, PC gaming is almost an entirely different animal.

Been playing Legend of Zelda - Skyward Sword for the past few days. Pretty amazing game. Wii Motion + makes a huge difference in the sword fighting, item throwing, etc.

Sticks to the Zelda formula enough for familiarity but adds a lot of new things as well. New items, upgrades, techniques, etc. It doesn't feel stale.

I'd do a big blow out post with pics and a full review but I don't think anyone cares.

Phenomenal game though. Love it coming out this time of year. I have a lot of good memories of getting sucked in to a Zelda game early winter and beating it around X-mas when I have vacation from work or school.

I recently got:

Saint's Row The Third
Goldeneye Reloaded
Batman: Arkham City

Since I'm going to be working from home for the rest of the year I figure I needed something to distract me

I have a XBox 360 with a handful of games. I usually get 1 or 2 new games a year and I'm good.

My brother asked me the other day what I wanted for it for Christmas this year and I told him Elder Scrolls IV and V as I dig RPG's quite a bit and a co-worker said they were really good.

We have a Wii. For a xmas gift for my gf, I just bought a couple Gamecube controllers and 3 GC games (Mario Kart Double Dash, Super Smash Bros Melee, and Super Monkey Ball). She likes those and they're good 2-player games, so should be fun. Any other good Gamecube recommendations? I like that they're cheaper than Wii games. (though I did hack my Wii, so got a bunch free, but there are some that haven't worked hacked, so may have to buy, like Donkey Kong Country Returns and Super Smash Bros Brawl)

as a dad of 3 girls (2 @9 & 13), we're going w/the Wii, too. There's no reason for a more expensive system... plus, nintendo needs the help---the 3DS hasn't sold very well, and A LOT of the games are just shitty...

Cheaper than the others, and our last system was a GC, so we've got a bunch of those games already.

but fuck, at $109 you can't beat it.

I think a wii is great, unless you're really into being a lame asshole.

For those talking about Wii...yes, it is definitely a good purchase. Almost any console is, considering there is always at least a handful of games worth playing. How many games does the average console owner buy for each system anyway? 5? 10?

Here's a bunch of games that easily justify me owning a Wii:

A Boy and His Blob
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Ghost Squad
The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return
The House of the Dead: Overkill
Kirby's Epic Yarn
Kirby's Return to Dreamland
Klonoa
Zelda - Twilight Princess
Zelda - Skyward Sword
Mario Galaxy
Mario Galaxy 2
Wario Land: Shake It!
Madworld
Muramasa: The Demon Blade
No More Heroes
No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle
Okami
Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition
Sin & Punishment
Sin & Punishment: Star Successor
Sega Bass Fishing
Super Paper Mario
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom
Trauma Team
Sonic Colors
NEW Super Mario Bros Wii
Mario Kart Wii
Cave Story

Not to mention all of the old NES, SNES, N64, NEO GEO, Genesis, etc. games you can download on it via Virtual Console.
