Sad to see Marvin Hagler pass away. Can't remember a boring fight of his, and he didn't duck anyone. That first round against Tommy Hearns is legendary.

They inspired the Ramones to write Blitzkrieg Bop...they wanted a sing along anthem like Saturday Night...

Ed Asner RIP
He had a good run at 91.
I mainly remember him from Mary Tyler Moore and Lou Grant.

I'll always know him as Chalky White, from my favorite show of all time. Sunday Nights with Boardwalk Empire was a bright spot during some tough years. But I knew each Fall meant football and Boardwalk, and that gave me something to look forward to.

He was awesome on Lovecraft Country, which I just learned while clicking around had been canceled back in July even though they had just started the writing for season 2. Which I guess ended up being a good thing it was canceled because there was no possible way to continue the show without him imo.

RIP to the 9 people who died at the Astroworld festival in Houston. :nyrexall:

So, messed up! WTF happened there?? Rumours of people being injected with fentanyl?

I am thankful that in all my years of going to concerts and festivals, nothing really bad happened. For me, one of the worst things I experience at a concert was a really wasted guy in front of me puke all over the back of a girl standing in front of him.

Security was not ready and the layout of that place was not conducive for a fest as they didn't logistically plan it out very well. Travis Scott and the production company are going to be on the hook for a lot of damages and RIP to the 9 that lost their lives and the hundreds more still not out of the woods yet

RIP Taylor Hawkins. Sad news for family and friends and fans. Talented drummer with a lot of charisma.

When I read that he was found in his hotel room, I immediately thought accidental OD or suicide.

I did a search and found a NY Times article that mentioned an od in the early 2000s. When asked about his scheme to stay clean, he said he doesn't like to address his process and wouldn't moralize on it. It just seems really strange to me he would be so reliable in the machine that is the Foos for so long, and then collapse just hours before a huge show with another coming up in Lolla and then bookings in LA including the Grammys. I mean, I get the nature of addiction, but he just never seemed to struggle with darkness.
