Crazy game. O really didn't score except the FT's and couldn't rebound anything yet were in the game. Then the UNC missed frees....weird.

Go ZAGA!

Pretty sure I've lost my cap. I've had it for 15+ years and it's gone... I had it in the car and I'm sure I put it in the door recess pocket thing, and I guess when I opened the door at some point it fell out and I didn't notice.

I have a replacement that my wife bought me but it's not the same. it doesn't have the elastic thing on the inside, rather it has those clip things at the back, and it's too big on my head - too high so it pushes my ears out if I push it all the way down on my head.. plus it's all rigid and tight....

sigh...

Water in the basement!

Yesterday, after heavy rain for a couple of days.
This is facing the front of the house. That cupboard is where the water meter is and directly below the front porch. Outside there's a downspout which appears to be clogged, water barely come out. The eavestroughs were overflowing and running down the front of the house. I'm not sure if that would have caused this flooding though. It could be a foundation issue too, not sure. It's not a sewer backup as there is no smell.

Today, I cleared out some junk and saw the carpet was also wet by the wall. This is also facing the front of the house, in the corner.

I wetvacced the carpet and have a humidifer goin to try to soak up the moisture.

Next week a guy is coming to clean/check the eaves and downspouts.

I also have to find some companies that deal with basements and foundations. I have no experience in this area. I fear if it's a foundation issue, it'll be a big and expensive job to fix. The house(my mom's) is a semi and at least 70 years old.

Most likely once you clean the gutters and the downspouts you should be fine?? With the water overflowing it can seep down the foundation walls. You also want to make sure that the dirt or whatever is surrounding the house slopes away from the house. The overflowing gutters could have eroded a slope away. Also make sure to get it really dry because the last thing you want is a mold problem.

If you have a couple cheap newer (i.e. safer) fan+space-heater combos I'd run those near the wettest areas, too.

Art, do you have homeowners insurance? It may or may not be covered because homeowners insurance and flood insurance covered specific water damage issues but the insurance company might at least be able to nail down what the problem is at less cost then you going it alone. Like Creep mentioned, mold is the big long term issue along with rot in any wood behind the walls unless it's like a brick/concrete bunker style basement. Whoever works the problem should have to tear out some of the wall to definitively determine what sort of damage you have. Because you mention the water meter is directly above the area were you have water, I'd bet it's a cracked or rotted pipe leak of some sort, probably running inside the wall. Good luck, these things aren't fun to deal with.

I enjoy that you took that photo in HDR mode with a fingertip in front of the lens. It's such a crisp shot of the underside of the vehicle, otherwise.

Well... I have no idea what HDR mode is. Most my pics feature my finger.

The only reason I noticed is that attachments on the board show the filename: "IMG_20170502_135853350_HDR.jpg"

I don't think I totally understand it myself, but I think it takes three (or some number of) separate shots and averages them somehow to make a better photo.

It's also the new ripoff gimmick for 2017 TVs, replacing "3D" and "curved screens" as the thing that justifies releasing new models so they can keep charging higher than necessary prices while the tech gets cheaper: http://www.trustedreviews.com/opinions/ ... -explained

Glad you're okay, creep. Hopefully, the repairs don't cost and arm and a leg.

It's a company truck so it doesn't really affect me. Two weeks ago all the ball joints and tie rods were replaced and it cost $2600. Luckily I was able to take it to the same company that did the work and they fixed it for free.

HIM are breaking up. I'm not a huge fan of everything they've done, but some of their songs are pretty fuckin cool. I guess I'm the only one here who thinks so or is brave enough to admit it

Fuck, I'm too old to even know anything about HIM
Ok, just googled them, I must have known them, but I've never been into goth music...

Lots of people that normally aren't into goth are nevertheless into HIm. Take his Wicked game cover for instance, pretty fuckin cool. I love their guitar player, awesome talent.

Annoying me today: a friend of mine, someone with whom I shared a band, at some point in March when we hung out together, either wrote down or took a picture of my credit card and spent around 120 bucks between March and May 2nd.

I'm "confronting" him in almost exactly 1:30 hours.

So I'm down a friend, down 120 bucks (I'll tell him that he has to pay me, of course - and the bank might reimburse me) and I'll lose about 2:30 hours of working time in a week that's been very intensive.

Very annoying.
