that's so sweet! thank you, thank you for the offer! But I should be able to find some a lot cheaper than the 8-9 bucks. Buying food online is rarely the cheap way to go, at least around here. There's a good chance I've walked passed it in super markets up until now just because I wasn't looking

four days left in my house and someone broke in to a lock box and got the key and broke in. they were in my house when i got home. i didn't have much left in the house but they did get my laptop and a bunch of financial stuff....tax returns...etc. the left my work laptop and ipad and tv. luckily i came home and 95% of my stuff is out of the house. pretty shitty day though...

Sorry to hear about your break-in, creep. It happened to me about 20 years ago. Thankfully, I didn't come home while it was happening. A woman in my building who was also broken into had her face bashed in when she walked in while the guys were inside her apartment.

took a ride out to the coast today and brought back some seaweed.....looked so good and exotic and it's so good for you so I thought I'd try and cook it....big mistake.. It didn't smell like much before I boiled it but after... I didn't even taste it. I'd rather not enjoy the health benefits from this stuff and die a few months earlier than take one bite.

on a similar note I think I'll try and dive in the ocean next week, could be really cool to call myself a winter swimmer

I actually used to eat those. I still love them, but don't eat them as often.



That pack would usually cost around 2 bucks. People sometimes boil that and eat it with beans or some shit, but I (and most people) just eat it as it is. It's delicious.

it sold yesterday. i've been in florida for a week anyway so I haven't been staying there.

while it was a relief that the sale went through...the place i was buying was just about to close and then i get a letter that a $13k special assessment was just placed on the house i was buying. i was a few hours away from having a big fat unexpected bill to pay. i backed out and now i'm homeless.

fuck homeowners associations.

I get a message from my wife early this afternoon there's a teenager in her mall with a gun and "don't worry... click." No answer when I text and call back. Check the news and sure enough somethings' going on there.

Turns out this kid upset because his girlfriend broke up with him, swiped a couple guns from his parents and didn't show up for school this morning. His parents got a call from school, discovered the missing guns, called police and gave them a couple locations where he might be hanging out. One of those locations was at the Dave and Busters arcade in my wife's mall. Mall cops were alerted and spotted the kid and local cops were able to get the jump on him and take him away. He did have at least one gun and ammo on him.

I do blame the parents, and the kid. If the guns hadn't been there, he wouldn't have taken them/it to the mall etc.. He woulda just used a car to run people over, or a knife or a crossbow, or a sharpened spoon or stick. The guns just make it easier to inflict serious, permanent harm with little effort.

The right is, in my opinion, unnecessary and stupid. But then I'm not a USAian, so I clearly don't understand at a fundamental level, why it is a right in the first place, or why and how it's so (seemingly) ingrained in some USAians...
C'mon, as if you're all gonna rise up in an organised militia against an oppressive government to overthrow them....

Mind you in saying that, maybe now is the time - in this current climate?

Yeah, she's good. I could tell she was a bit rattled by it when she came home last night. She called me a couple hours after they nabbed the teen to let me know everything was ok. Everyone in her office was pissed because security didn't let the office know the police had contacted security directly, not through the front office when they were looking for the kid so they were unaware anything was happening until several random people came in the staff offices scared that there was a large police presence in the mall w/helicopters overhead.
