What made your day today?
Re: What made your day today?
On a whim decided to hit gg park and Outside Lands on my jog to see if I could catch any of St Vincent's set from the woods. At first it didn't look so good, too many fences and orange shirts around, but doubling back I cut through some brush and scurried up a hill still beyond the fence but there was a collection of hobos and kids with a twelve pack and a perfect view of the jumbo tron and pretty decent sound.
Caught most of the set, she has a great voice and stage presence, reminded me of kate bush, and the hobos couldn't stop commenting on how great it was to see a $300 ticket show for free, it was a good group.
Mxyplxxx are you working it this weekend?

This will be the first year, since the first year of Outside Lands, that I'm not working in some capacity.

that looks awesome. it's crazy how long we have been at this. it seems not too long ago your son was born.
Jenkinson Lake at Sly Park Recreation Area. The boy had a blast tubing.
Yeah... He turns 7 in a couple months, and he was born about 7 years after I first started frequenting Jane's boards...

Fortunately for him, my son looks nothing like me.

I remember! He was born the same year as my youngest niece (she turns 7 this month).MYXYLPLYX wrote:creep wrote:

Throughout the course of your week if you ever find yourself in a building, I think this would be of great interest.
At least I found it fascinating and pertinent/accessible.

Good news from an old internet friend (have known her since '97). She was diagnosed with breast cancer first and found out later she had bone cancer last year. She had some CT tests today and there has been no more bone damage in the past 6 months. This made me so happy today. Even if I haven't met her in person, she's been a really good friend and very brave through all this.

My brother had already told me about this, but I liked listening to it today.

Today while walking my newly 5th grader to class on her first day of school ... she reached out to hold my hand.

Regurgitator including 7'10" on their latest tour (well on the first night at least)...
For years I have been bugging Quan to play it and he always says "No we don't play that anymore..." Let's hope it's played at the shows I'm going to..

no idea how that is possible after using the moto as a surf board going 60 down 101.........
don't kid yourself, this life thing is strange and completely unpredictable.

I saw two Regurgitator gigs last week and at both they played 7'10". That song hasn't been played since (about 4 January?) 1997... It was fucking rad. Recordings came out stellar too....
Here's an audio only youtube of the song back in 1995:

Cuba --> Colombia --> Peru for 6 weeks in the spring.
Looking very likely!
Too bad I can't sing, dance or play an instrument....... I'll bring the fun though!
That beat is contagious.

The price on Roomba 870s finally came down enough that I could afford to replace my old retrofitted 530 (3 years old, and the battery is basically toast -- replaceable, but the newer models are much better). I'm living in the future with a robot vacuum that runs on a schedule and returns to its dock on its own. More time for writing.
