I can't believe FIFA didn't consider the heat factor when selecting Qatar for the 2022 World Cup. I don't know if it's been passed yet but they are proposing moving the games to November instead of June and July.

and the fact that slaves are building the stadiums. Lots of them have died ín the process. They arrive from places like India and get their passports confiscated for 2-5 years or something and then maybe if they're lucky they get to go home
Michael Laudrup that fuckin money worshipping clown is a coach in Qatar right now, it's embarrassing

Europe should boycott the cup. Which would be a problem for them as 75% of the players in the World Cup play in Europe.

I think the official reports did consider the heat factor as one of the several reasons why the World Cup shouldn't be held in Qatar. The thing is, money weighs more than common sense.
I also think Europe should boycott this shit. The Chairman of Bayern München said that European teams should be compensated for the disruption of their league calendars... but I'm hoping a strong personality leads a boycott that ends up maybe with an "unofficial" World Cup and/or a complete overhaul of FIFA.

At the time of their bid, Qatar never even mentioned the fact that they would 'maybe' play it in December. And all of a sudden, it's in December.

I'm sure nobody here cares, but the FIFA Women's World Cup starts today.
Canada vs China PR for the opening match at 16:00 (MDT)
No. This is really cool (well not canada playing china ).
One of the best, most intense soccer games I have EVER seen was Brazil vs US in the 2011 WC and Wambach's goal in the 122'.
That was just so amazing....
Yes, it sure was. I just looked it up to refresh my memory..

I think they just didn't want to run into prime time on west coast or something. No 'major' sporting events in US start this early on a weekday, well I guess Olympics because of country of origin and I guess this is equivalent.
I just think of Canada as US

Great match. And that friction' bloody head. Looked like a hatchet to the skull. How did they let her continue playing? She was still bleeding when the game finished some 45 minutes later.
I'm glad US got that second goal or they're be a lot of chatter today about the penalty kick call when the contact came outside the box.

I was actually JUST looking up when it was! There was all this confusion with Fox and FIFA or something about when it was.
I am actually at my site today, but I will call it early to catch the game, and do some more work afterewards.
It's 98 F today!!!!
