Does anybody use/know about paid YouTube?

Hey, just wondering if anybody around here has seen or heard of paid channels you can subscribe to, TV shows you can pay to watch or movies you can purchase. Is this already a thing in the Northern half of this planet?
Not that we have it here; it's just that I keep reading about this stuff but I've never seen it around.
