They talk like that in Boston? Didn't know that, and I've even watched Good will hunting a couple of times. Surprisingly that doesn't make me an authority on the subject it seems
Each neighborhood seems to have its own distinct sound and dialect. I have noticed that some of the older city officials speak as though they have marbles in their mouths.
I have lived here since 1999 and I still run into people I can't understand.

Glad you got it! I was wondering about it because the expected delivery date was the 6th and the Canada Post tracker still says "In Transit".perkana wrote:Thank you, Secret Santa! Your package arrived today, Art

Re: Secret Santa?
I loved everything!!!
I received these lovely parcels...
Thank you for the onesie...I recognized Jim Carrey but you'll have to tell me the rest (I assume all are Canadian)
Loved the pins! Is that the famous pee pitcher?
I know it's Drake, but to me, he will always be Jimmy
"Sorry"
And last, but not least, this year's favorite ornament
It wouldn't be you without your puns
Thank you again, hope you all have a Merry Xmas!

Excellent gifts so far.
Re: Secret Santa?
Cool gifts.
With regard to the onesie, I think I recognize a few faces: Margaret Atwood, Alanis Morrissette (or maybe Celine Dion ?), and Geddy Lee.

The onesie is Canadian pop icons such as Geddy Lee, Joni Mitchell,Drake, Justin Trudeau, Margaret Atwood, Jim Carey, Sarah Mclachlan, Celine Dion, I think Ryan Reynolds. A few others that I'm not sure who it's supposed to be. I know it doesn't get really cold where you live, but it'll be comfy for lounging in on the cooler days.
I thought the pins were funny...especially the Drake/Jimmy one. The one with milk bag in a jug is a very Ontario thing. I think in Quebec milk is sold in bags too. Anyway, the milk bags started in the 70s when Canada was converting to the metric system and glass bottles were being replaced with plastic jugs and cartons. So, the milk bottlers had to adapt and create a way to contain milk that their existing bottling machines could still use or just be modified a little bit. Dupont Canada came up with the plastic bladders which saved the bottlers a lot of money. If you visit Ontatio, you will see milk sold in bags- So, in each big bag, there are 3 bladders for a total of 4 L. Here's a pic of how it looks like:
Sorry, but I', not going to explain the "sorry" pin. I think you already know it's a Canadian thing..
The Bowie ornament was nice, I thought. They also had Bjork and a few others, but the Bowie looked the best.
Great gifts so far...Perk, your gift to chaos are really nice!
Re: Secret Santa?
Thanks for explaining the milkbag pitcher. For some reason I thought that it was used when it was so cold to pee outside
Re: Secret Santa?
I have no doubt that people have used the milk pitchers as pee pitchers.perkana wrote:Thanks for explaining the milkbag pitcher. For some reason I thought that it was used when it was so cold to pee outside
