I'm currently watching Scandavia's finest 'The Bridge'. Series 3 concludes this Saturday. Simply brilliant. I never thought they would improve on Series 1 and 2 but they have. It's also really weird,as since it is in Danish and Swedish, I still have to have the volume up whilst I read the subtitles.
The Bridge is great! I was worried about the third season not being any good without Martin but I soon forgot all about him!
I'm halfway through "making a murderer". Stevens lawyer seems like a a genuinely good guy while those cops and his nephews lawyer appear pretty untrustworthy!

Vinyl premieres tonight on HBO. Here at 11, hope I don't fall asleep...

Also, I think Girls new season starts next week. I'm going to watch.
I didn't watch Mozart in the Jungle first season, but I've been watching season 2 and I really like it. What else, oh yeah, this is pretty embarrassing. Who is excited about The Gilmore Girls new episodes? I think I'm going to finally give Netflix a chance just to watch this.

I watched episode 1 of The People v O.J Simpson last night.

Hmmmmm....I hope it gets better. Cuba's acting is half decent. David Schwimmer and John Travolta are awful in it. Travolta looks plastic too. How did he get so famous?

I watched the first 2 episodes and agree with you. Also, why do they even bother showing the young Kardasion girls? It's cheap, they weren't relevant. Also, why Cuba? He's a little person, OJ is a big dude. OJ's lawyers were not taller that him, it looks stupid.

Just finished watch the BBC series "The NIght Manager'. :thumb:

Really good cast: Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie, Olivia Colman, Tom Hollander.

Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie star as rivals in The Night Manager, a contemporary espionage drama based on John le Carre's 1993 thriller novel of the same name. The six-part series, premieres on 21 February on BBC One in the UK and on 19 April on AMC in the US.
Former British soldier Jonathan Pine (Tom Hiddleston) is recruited by Burr (Olivia Colman), an intelligence operative. He is tasked to navigate Whitehall and Washington, D.C. where there is an alliance between the intelligence community and the secret arms trade. He must infiltrate the inner circle of arms dealer Richard Onslow Roper (Hugh Laurie), Roper's girlfriend Jed (Elizabeth Debicki), and associate Corcoran (Tom Hollander).

just finished it. if you guys didn't say it was good i would of bailed after the first episode because i thought it was boring. really good series. obviously set up for a second season but i'm not sure how good it would be without danny.

edit...just read that danny will be back for season 2 so that will be interesting to see what they do with him. without giving too much away i'm sure they will use him like his sister that would talk to him.
season two on may 27th. looking forward to it.

anyone watch part 1 of "oj made in america"? i thought it was pretty interesting. there are just to the part where he meets nicole. it is done by the 30 for 30 espn people who usually do really good stuff. it is a five part series.

I watched it early this evening. On one hand, I thought they spent way too much time setting up OJ's back story. They could have chopped an hour out of that 2 hour program and made the same point about his character and how he basically shaped himself into a cultural icon. On the other hand, at it's best, the doc did bring back those 1970's memories of how huge a figure OJ was in American pop culture. Those Hertz commercials were burned into my head back then. If I was Fred Goldman, I would be homicidal after watching EP1.

what i thought was odd was that oj pretty much turned his back on the civil rights movement and really didn't consider himself black.

also after his first date with nicole she came home with ripped jeans. she said oj became a little too forceful.

HBO cancelled Vinyl. It was entertaining but fell short of its potentional. It could have been much better

Vinyl was an incredible idea on paper. In practice it wasn't even entertaining. I wanted to like it so much, and I stuck with it for nearly the whole season, but it was really terrible. The murder plot was fucking ridiculous, and the way it dealt with music/musicians seemed pointless. None of the characters were interesting. What a waste.

It's a good thing because you weren't subjected to the Ray Romano threesome scene. :jasper:

I found the show to be really inconsistent in terms of writing, acting and plot. I agree with Hype that most of the characters were unlikable. I liked Jamie and Lester Grimes, but that's it. Bobby Cannavale who was cast as Richie Finestra was terrible. I didn't like him in Boardwalk Empire either. Anyway, I am not surprised it was cancelled. The show did look really good with the sets and costumes but that's not enough to keep a show going.

Tomorrow another music related series is starting- Roadies. It's on Showtime at 10pm
Roadies are a largely underappreciated part of a concert. This comedy series, created by music industry veteran Cameron Crowe ("Almost Famous"), puts the hard-working individuals in the spotlight by providing an insider's look at the lives of some roadies for the Staton-House Band. Although they don't have the prolific lives and public scandals of the rockers who take the stage each night, there is still enough recklessness and romance to go around with the road crew. The roadies persevere through the issues they face in their personal lives to make sure the show goes on as planned every night.

I liked the last episode. Dunno if they will be doing a second season, but if they focus on other characters other than Ray, I would watch it :thumb: (edit, scratch that, hadn't read Art's post about it getting cancelled).
I have a masochistic thing for a show called The Girlfriend Experience (just like I feel about Girls). Steven Soderbergh produced it and that's why I got sucked in. One episode left and I still don't know why I'm watching it. I really hate the main character. It's based on the movie with the same name. Now I have to watch it...

Has anyone watched Outcast yet?

I've watched 2 episodes and really like it so far. The show is pretty creepy and intense. :scared: The creator of the show is the same guy as The Walking Dead- Robert Kirkman. I haven't read the comic, so not sure how the show compares.

https://cinemax.outcasttvseries.com/
Outcast Season 1 Synopsis

Outcast centers on Kyle Barnes, a young man who has dealt with demonic possession his entire life. Barnes teams up with Reverend Anderson, a man with his own sort of demons, to find answers about the curse that plagues him, but what he discovers could have dire consequences for himself and the world.

An official synopsis from Cinemax is below:

Patrick Fugit (Almost Famous, Gone Girl) stars as Barnes, a man searching for answers, and for redemption, who sequesters himself from those he loves for fear of causing greater hurt. Philip Glenister stars as Reverend Anderson, a West Virginia evangelist who believes he is a soldier in God’s holy war against the forces of evil on Earth. An inveterate drinker and gambler, he doesn’t believe God intends people to sweat the small stuff. Gabriel Bateman stars as Joshua Austin, an eight-year-old who lives across town from Kyle. To his family’s dismay, he appears to be in the clutches of demonic possession, but there’s something very different about this possession and its connection to Kyle Barnes.

Oh, and the closing song on epsiode 1 was a Cure song- A Short Term Effect from Pornography.
