Anger Management Quiz

#1 Post by chaos » Wed Jun 13, 2012 5:38 pm

There are 25 true/false questions.

There are three possible outcomes:
*Anger Management Problem: Help Required
*Normal Anger Management Skills: Clinical Help May be Useful
*Better than Normal Anger Management Skills

My results indicate that I have an anger management problem and help is required. wtf

The test: http://www.mentalhelp.net/poc/view_doc. ... 396&cn=116

Some of these questions are stupid. They ask if you get annoyed standing in line? Who the fuck doesn't? Do you regret things you said in the past? Who doesn't?

I hate quizzes like this. The questions are always so black and white and they basically are just trying to sell you on whatever service they conveniently happen to provide.

YES or NO: Do you like sugar or PCP?

I like sugar. Yes. "You have a drug problem"

Do you hate standing in line? ANGER PROBLEMS.

Right. :eyes:

This is the same line of thought that causes people to self-diagnose themselves while taking psychology or sociology courses.

They see symptoms and say "omg, that's me, I'm like that", meanwhile the book is talking about worst case scenario where the person feels that constantly, all day every day, and little Billy gets sad once every 6 months and assumes he has severe depression or whatever.

"Do you occasionally feel [INSERT ADJECTIVE HERE]?"

Yes. I'm a human being. I occasionally feel most emotions on the spectrum over the course of a period of time. Thanks for trying to help, Doctor 200-bucks-an-hour

And i do.

Just the other day i dropped into a smoothie place. I was hungry and wanted something to hold me over for a few hours. And there was a typical lunchtime line of 5-6 people ahead of me. No problem... till the elderly gentleman at the front started counting out pennies to pay for his 7 dollar smoothie. Did i start to imagine kicking his cane out from under him? You're damn right I did, because that's the acceptable response to someone holding up a line of hungry people.

I take it the quiz annoyed you. Wait, based on my results, I need to express myself appropriately:

it's too many questions for me to take. i can get a little angry while driving but one of my better qualities is that i never hold grudges. life is so much easier if you don't get all worked up over shit that has happened in the past. forget about it...move on and live your life....just don't drive 55 in the fast lane.

i hope jasper takes it but he will probably get mad that i said that and not take it now.

I knew you were going to take a crack at me. I'LL KILL YOU.

I got a ten, but I agree with 6767 - the questions are too open to interpretation. I took a pretty straightforward approach even though I knew it was building up into an allegedly bad score. Most of the time psychiatry/psychology truly is a scam. It's been demonstrated that it often doesn't even provide any better results than would have come from just waiting out a problem.

i only scored a 7.

Which is average/normal.

But it still said i could benefit from anger management counseling.

But if it's average/normal, then that means that's what the majority of folks experience. Which means they suggest everyone get anger management counseling.

Which goes back to my earlier point that these quizzes are only set up to gain business.

sounds like someone has had anger management before.

most of the people that get anger management are court ordered

That's worst case scenario.

Besides, if someone is putting their fist through the faces of members of their immediately family, they probably don't need a test to tell them they have anger issues.

The same way someone who spends all their paycheck on heroin doesn't need to sit down with a psychologist to find out if they might potentially have a substance abuse problem.
