That sucks. When we had that "what was your first record you bought" thread, I'd posted my Dick Clark double LP history of Rock. All 50s and 60s stuff. I listened to it over and over on my little plastic record player. It had a big picture of Dick Clark's face on the cover, so I associate him with that old school rock. The Leader of the Pack, Life Would Be A Dream, Crimson & Clover, All I Have To Do Is Dream. Good stuff.

He had been in poor health since his stroke 8 or 9 years ago.

I remember watching American Bandstand on Saturday mornings; the kids on the show would tend to say the same thing about most of the songs: "It's got a good beat and you can dance to it." :lol:

he really shouldn't have gone in front of the camera again after his stroke. he pretty much owned everything and i'm sure died a really rich man.

I only know him from Howard Stern's impressions of him. Didn't sound like he was in the best shape to say the least, so it's probably a good thing he passed on :noclue:

Very iconic guy to say the least...I definitely have some good memories of him on the tail end of American Bandstand...RIP...
