Is there some place where I can download that movie? Long time since I downloaded a movie, and it's not on demonoid.
So, uh, seen any good movies lately?

I just attempted to watch Raging Bull... I thought it was terrible.
Re: So, uh, seen any good movies lately?
I've already seen the swedish Lisbeth Salander movies, in my opinion, the first one was ok, they cut some important details though, second one was too slow for me, third one was ok...But I'm definitely looking forward to this new version
Mara Rooney plays Lisbeth, I didn't recognize her but she was in The Social Network. And finally someone thought about a decent Mikael Blomqvist. I'm glad they chose someone who actually is sassy and sexy. Christopher Plummer, Julian Sands
and Stellan Skarsgaard are definitely a big plus

I'm watching the documentary "Every F---ing Day of my Life". Such a terrible, sad and anger-inducing story.
You can watch it on YouTube, and it's embedded here: http://documentaryheaven.com/every-fcki ... f-my-life/

Yesterday I saw by accident an Italian zombie movie and I really liked it.
If you like zombies, be sure to check out Eaters.
Here's the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mz8OCZrqrDY

Looking forward to A Jolie's new feature on the Bosnian war. She used unknown locals as actors....very Herzog like.![rockon ](./images/smilies/rockon.gif)

Watched a bunch of stuff via Netflix this weekend:
PJ20 - very cool doc on Pearl Jam directed by Cameron Crowe. Lots of footage and tracks I've never seen/heard (I'm not a die-hard PJ fan) and really cool insight into the band and how they've kept it together through the years
Blue Valentine - the performances were good but there was no story development at all. I never really understood where the tension in the marriage was coming from. Points for a naked Michelle Williams even though all the sex scenes really weren't integral to the story.
Easy A - pretty funny and an obvious homage to all things John Hughes. Really captured the vibe of classic 80s teen movies while keeping it modern. I now have new appreciation for Emma Stone.
Take Me Home Tonight - one of the worst examples of trying to recreate an 80s party movie. If it weren't for the coked out fat guy scenes it would have been unwatchable. Not good at all.

Based on a book by swedish author Jens Lapidus, great movie, part 2 to follow (english title "Easy money")
I absolutely love swedish crime novels and films, very hard, dark, cruel and realistic.
Great actors i.e. Joel Kinnaman

Re: So, uh, seen any good movies lately?
I just watched "In Time" with Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried.
It was an interesting concept, where time became currency, but ultimately it was pretty much just another typical heist movie with a typical love story of poor boy falls in love with rich girl.
If there was a sequel though, or a television show based on it, I would watch it.
7/10

Sucker Punch.
Holy jebus. Visually stunning, amazing music, and hot chicks in tiny clothing kicking ass. Perfect, yet very strange, movie.

Last night I finally saw "The Mission". Aside from the music and photography, what a tremendous load of shit. Very poor movie. It just doesn't age well.
Re: So, uh, seen any good movies lately?
I just watched Casino again, great great movie. Joe Pesci is the ultimate badass. I hate the way he dies in it though, pretty hard to watch.
Re: So, uh, seen any good movies lately?
Today I watched "The Skin I Live in" and "Puss in Boots"...For an Almodóvar film, I found the first one just to be ok. It was too long and a bit slow in the end. I have to say that out of the two, I preferred Puss. Didn't know it was produced by Guillermo del Toro. Very funny movie
Re: So, uh, seen any good movies lately?
Last night I saw Lars von Trier's 'Melancholia'. Good opening sequence, the rest not so much.
Re: So, uh, seen any good movies lately?
Thor
6/10
Good story, but it seems like they packed alot of stuff into a very short amount of time. I would have liked to see a little more happen.
It was nice having Natalie Portman in the movie, but they hardly even used her.

Re: So, uh, seen any good movies lately?
I got ahold of a review blu-ray copy of "Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes" this past weekend not really knowing what to expect and was pretty impressed with how good the movie was considering the subject and the obvious pitfalls of the franchise. Kind of an alternate "prequel" (to several of the 70's sequels) that explained how apes became "intelligent" in the present day. John Lithgow had a supporting role as a father suffering from Alzheimers and hits just the right notes in the role. Typical for a big budget sci-fi flick these days, all the ape footage is CGI but for the most part it's well done and the guy who was the motion capture actor for Gollum (in the Lord of the Rings trilogy) and King King for Peter Jackson's films gets the right amount of nuanced emotions through the effects work. Well worth checking out.

"There is no strain of dope potent enough to make this fuckery funny."
Much as I loved The Stooges as a kid, that guy is 100% right.
Speaking of The Stooges, back in the early 80's there was a TV skit comedy show that was a Saturday Night clone Live called Fridays that occasionally had somewhat funny Stooges skits. The cast usually couldn't get through a skit without fucking up either because they were unrehearsed or loaded themselves but there was still some funny moments:

This looks interesting:

We Need to Talk About Kevin
The strained relationship between a mother and her teenage son turns tragic when the boy engineers a massacre at his high school, and the mother is forced to ask how much blame she deserves for the heartbreaking event.

The book is EXCELLENT!
I read it a couple of years ago. It's really well written, I think you'd like it. Lionel Shriver is the author.
That movie is definitely on my list. I love Tilda Swinton, but must say, I was surprised that she was cast as the mother.

It is a really fun movie, I actually liked Tom Hanks. I'm still waiting for Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Rum Diary. Looks like they'll play them here next year ![sad ](./images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)

I saw this on the Syfy Channel in the wee hours of the morning the other night. It was pretty good.
From Netflix:
From Netflix:
Eight-year-old genius Joshua Cairn (Jacob Kogan) is used to being in the limelight -- by himself. When his parents (Sam Rockwell and Vera Farmiga) bring the boy's new baby sister home from the hospital, the envious youngster's scheming threatens to rip the family apart. Sibling rivalry rears its jealous head in this psychological thriller directed by George Ratliff. The cast also includes Celia Weston and Michael McKean.

Re: So, uh, seen any good movies lately?
Yeah, that's shaping up to be one of my most anticipated movies in years. Although I've always liked the fact that it was an unexplained mystery behind the Space Jockey and the whole back story about how the Alien eggs got to the planet in the original Alien movie was left to the imagination, I think Ridley Scott is going to knock this Alien "prequel" which tells that story outta the park.creep wrote:this looks promising
