No work for me either...Romeo no evacuation for you? I'm just hoping there's no major power outages...Irene fucked us up for a week last year...

My work was cancelled. Works for me...so long as I have power and no trees crashing through the roof.

Did your neighbors stay as well? I hope you are not alone in your neighborhood. :gh:

I've seen models that said we weren't going to get bad wind, I've seen models that said we are. :hs:

be safe all!!!!

Also CVS on Atlantic Ave in Oceanside still had some D batteries and cases of bottled water if you still need supplies

Stop & shop however was wiped out of Entenmanns lool
Hey Romeo, we ended up leaving Long Beach. If we didn't have a 15 month old we would've stayed for this one, our neighbors were having a hurricane party tonight and I work in Long Beach so my job is closed Monday and Tuesday for the storm. I wanted to stay but I guess going to the in-laws is the responsible thing to do. The Allegria Hotel has a live surf camera, http://www.nysea.com/live-cam-forecast/ so we can watch this come in.

Stay safe, hopefully we won't flood too bad.

thanks, but where I live doesn't flood. I'm not near any creek or canal. but because I am "south of sunrise" I am in a automatic mandatory evacuation zone. They really need to rezone that shit.

The wind however is FREAKING me out and it's not even the hurricane wind yet. Nor' easters are normally nasty on their own.

And yes my neighbors did stay (they stayed for Irene too when I bolted). Last night they lost power when a transformer blew (LIPA actually repaired it before midnight) but I still had power because I'm on a different transformer

Blackula, stay safe. That cam from the hotel is cool!!!

Things are intensifying here in MD.

Can't say I've seen anything quite like this before. The storm is supposed to stall directly overhead and beat the shit out of us.

ominously dark, light rain, very still. waiting, waiting...

(think the most recent spiritualized album will be more storm music)

my neighbor 4 houses away lost power again, so far I am still ok. Did what any "girl" would do....took a hot shower & washed my hair because if I do lose power (and who knows how long we'll be out) no hot water.

They (my neighbors without power) have the keys to the knights of columbus nextdoor to me so we might go over there later & raid the bar. :drink:

Last week, unthinking and ignorant, I scheduled to get my groceries delivered today. SOMEHOW, they came (as the man said "The only thing my boss turns down is his collar") - I thanked him, as I was down to my last english muffin and nearly out of ketchup, tipped and wished him well. Next, I went to the seedy liquor store that was still open - snug as a bug, but lord, it is wet out there. Low, low hanging clouds.

Stay Safe!

My sister and her bf just went out to 7/11 to buy snacks cause no one in my family thought to do that. Hopefully they are not blown away.
