I think the world is calling it quits for the humans....puts an asshole in charge to speed things along.

Yeah, I remember that one vividly. This was about a week before Halloween 1993, I was taking night classes at Platt Graphic Arts College a mile or two south of John Wayne airport and about 5 miles north of the fire. I'd been hearing about the fire growing all afternoon but it wasn't until early evening at class when it became apparent it was becoming a serious threat locally. They let us out early and walking to my car I took this photo as the fire was becoming visible over the hills threatening UC Irvine....kv wrote:There was a very bad fire in the 90's in the Laguna Hills...that burnt down a lot of homes...me being stupid took it as the perfect time to drive behind closed road blocks so I could "experience" it....needless to say the last 20 years I haven't tried such a stunt again..(I can still vividly remember too much of it today...felt like driving around inside an erupting volcano) the ash from that blew to my house some 50 miles away...wildfire sunsets are amazingly beautiful and tragic...when I got within 10 miles of that fire it looked like a snowstorm and smelled like burning couches...and it just got worse the closer I got.
I believe I had what you're describing about 5 or 6 years ago. I thought I broke something because it was 100% painful the first day it bothered me and certainly hindered my ability to walk. The x-ray showed what looked like a hook shaped spur growing out of the back of my left heal bone. The visual difference was obvious and I think I even posted a photo of my feet here. The options I was given was surgery in my achilles tendon area or physical therapy, icing and advil and revisiting it in a few months. Icing and mild foot stretching PT at night seemed to really help and after a few months it no longer bothered me.Warped wrote:Anybody here ever had calcaneal spur (in german it is called Fersensporn)? it seems to be a common injury for joggers.
That sucks big time,it hurts, i can't walk, it always feels like you walk on nails....for sure stopped me for weeks from doing my workout routine which contributes to being in a bad mood..
I got ibuprofen, some inlays for my shoes..but i have the feeling it is not getting better. I also do a lot of foot exercises...
If anybody here has some advice, pls let me know.
I honestly don't know. My gut feeling is it wouldn't have helped in my situation because it would create more pressure on the area I had the spur. I couldn't wear any kind of shoe that came up near my ankle, thus it was mostly sandals and flip flops for a couple month unless I absolutely needed shoes and then, it was painful.Warped wrote:Yes...that's it.
I have a feeling that the foot stretching does help the best so i carry on with that.
Do you thing a tape like this might help?

I don't have a problem with Photobucket aside from the crippling number of ads when I upload something there. As far as posting on sites like here, I simple right click on the image to get the actual url and paste it in my post.chaos wrote:Still sick, so I'm a bit cranky.
I hate photobucket. Old news: https://petapixel.com/2017/07/01/photob ... edded-web/
I'm glad I don't have anything important there since it is all essentially being held hostage.
Shit. How long has he known and how is he coping with that? I know it's fresh for you, so what have you thought about in these hours?wally wrote:Last night I found out my step dad has 2-4 months left to live.
