Hopefully there is somewhat of a story.

I'd hate to see another video of them just pretending to play the song.

2012 promises to be another big year for alterna-rock legends Jane's Addiction. Starting Feb. 22, the band will promote its latest album, 'The Great Escape Artist,' with the "Theatre of the Escapist" tour that will take them to a series of intimate venues, sticking to classic theaters whenever possible.

"We chose to play as many of the great theaters that we could find because we wanted to immerse the audience in a unique experience unlike any they have ever seen at a rock show," frontman Perry Farrell said in a stament. "Expect an orgy of musical and visual delights. We like orgies, and hope you do too."

Spinner is now happy to bring you behind the scenes of the music video shoot for the single 'Underground,' which was shot in Los Angeles' Cafe Club Fais Do-Do and directed by Robert Hales. "Jane's Addiction perform in a Los Angeles brothel built in the 1920s," Farrell tells Spinner of the concept.

"There are Siamese Gargoyles, séances, card games and a man in a white fedora who was also on the cover of 'In Through the Out Door.' People get made love to and murdered in the backrooms while the band plays on." It sounds like having a good time at this place is a real coin flip.

The video will premiere Jan. 25 on VEVO. Take a look at the exclusive behind-the-scenes gallery below.

Did Perry get a haircut? I'm pretty excited for this video because it's a great song and the pics look great.

The pics definitely match up with Perrys description of the style of the tour.

Looks like Chaney is rocking out in the last picture

Anyway, looking forward to it, song is great, one of the best of the album.

looks pleasing aesthetically, still not crazy about the song though. Especially the verse sounds like leftover SP to me

Nevermind I didn't look closely enough. I'm sure they'll edit him out with CGI in the final video.

That's funny, because I think the verse is the great part, but what are we talking about when we say verse? I mean the "How you doin' bro" part. The part that I don't like as much is the "I'm a hustler, hustler" part, which I guess is kind of like a chorus, but kind of not.

yeah, it's the "How you doin' bro" part I mean. The rhythm and phrasing of the vocal in that is to me reminiscent of SP and a little bit cringeworthy. I like the other parts of the song.

That's the part that sounds like vintage Jane's to me. The verse is almost spoken along the lines of No One's Leaving, Standing in the Shower etc.

Agree with Hoka. I like Perry's phrasing and lyrics here.

It's alright man. I don't love it or hate it, but at least it's a real video and i'm far from against the concept of it. Yes it's been done and it's a little Boardwalk Empire but i bloody love Boardwalk!

Perry coulda done without the coat, but that's a real small gripe. Mid-point of the vid, an old drag queen is putting on the slap (no, not Perry...) and reminds me of the dude in the pregnant costume from BCS... can't imagine it is after 20+ years though.

Overall, at least we now have a video. Next stop, tour.
