Ink Master
Re: Ink Master
Yes, on a TV screen, but streaming rather than traditional TV. I'm using a 46" Samsung as my everyday PC monitor right now. (Granted, I'd like to have my main computer be in an office, but this is really surprisingly easy to get used to... wireless keyboard and mouse on the couch... I usually use a second monitor, which helps.)
I guess old people still watch old TV shows. I don't know anyone who still watches Survivor/American Idol (early 2000s reality TV). Even my parents are using Netflix now, and my dad's considering getting rid of the satellite dish.

Re: Ink Master
As long as people watch it, they'll keep churning them out. No matter how dumb the shows become.
My friend works for Viacom. I used to bitch at her for all the stupid "reality" TV they churn out. She always said, if it makes a ton of money in advertising they'll keep creating them, no matter how stupid they are.

Re: Ink Master
at least best ink hasn't become a blatant 60min commercial a'la top chef. yet.
"so we hopped in our toyota Avalon to go to whole foods to pick up some shit to come back and cook it on our GE equipped kitchen and then we stayed at the westin! oh yeah ziplok too. we used ziploks."

Re: Ink Master
That's precisely why i watch Chopped instead.wally wrote:at least best ink hasn't become a blatant 60min commercial a'la top chef. yet.

Re: Ink Master
I cant get into chopped. second rate chefs and stupid mystery ingredient boxes.Six7Six7 wrote:That's precisely why i watch Chopped instead.wally wrote:at least best ink hasn't become a blatant 60min commercial a'la top chef. yet.

Re: Ink Master
Bingo. Ramsay's doing that shit now too. Hell's Kitchen does it exactly the same way. Kitchen Nightmares was an incredibly interesting show in its original British format... now it's a combination of fear and self-loathing that make it the televisual equivalent of tranquilizers.wally wrote:at least best ink hasn't become a blatant 60min commercial a'la top chef. yet.

Re: Ink Master
Right. Top Chef has legit contestants. Best of any show.wally wrote:I cant get into chopped. second rate chefs and stupid mystery ingredient boxes.Six7Six7 wrote:That's precisely why i watch Chopped instead.wally wrote:at least best ink hasn't become a blatant 60min commercial a'la top chef. yet.

Re: Ink Master
I like the mystery ingredients. I don't care if a chef can make a perfect anything. I am interested in how the hell they are going to make a dinner out of a box of raisins and some canned corn.hokahey wrote:Right. Top Chef has legit contestants. Re: Ink Master
I enjoy Chopped from time to time. I like most cooking shows (except the Ramsay ones). Top Chef is preferable to me just because the quality of talent and overall show production.Six7Six7 wrote:I like the mystery ingredients. I don't care if a chef can make a perfect anything. I once saw Anthony Bourdain speak and he had quite a bit to say about how legit the show and it's contestants were. I thought it was pretty cool to hear someone I respect reinforce my opinion.
Re: Ink Master
The challenges are the funnest part of the show..creep wrote:some of the challenges are a little silly and some of the editing is annoying (like when the time is running out and they make it look like all of them finish with seconds left) but the tattoo portion and judging is really interesting. i will be watching.
Re: Ink Master
I hope Oliver loses that dang toothpick! That's the most annoying part of the show for me.
Re: Ink Master
Hopefully tatu baby is ready.
Re: Ink Master
I'm ready for Tatu Baby
Re: Ink Master
anybody watch the new one last night. I like the new format.
Re: Ink Master
He won't he has it all the time even when at his shop in Dallas, pretty much only takes it out to eat. Its a nervous habit for him especially when working or in public.Artemis wrote:I hope Oliver loses that dang toothpick! That's the most annoying part of the show for me.
Re: Ink Master
They always make it different somehow. I dig it.wally wrote:anybody watch the new one last night. I like the new format.
Re: Ink Master
That lady last week really pissed me off making such a fuss. You volunteered to be on a show where you get tattooed in the first place. He couldve sucked it up but i'm not sure if she was ever gonna be satisfied.
Re: Ink Master
I also think Tatu baby should have got the boot for not finishing her piece in time.
Re: Ink Master
Yeah youre kinda right but theres no rules on that show. Tatu baby was smart showin off her talent even if she couldnt finish.
Re: Ink Master
maybe but i think there were far worse tattoos that show. dave hinted that she might be leaving sooner than you think. so far the only guy there that i think is talented is the black dave navarro.Artemis wrote:I also think Tatu baby should have got the boot for not finishing her piece in time.
Re: Ink Master
lol creep and his black dave navarro..totatally looks like him.
Re: Ink Master
i can't take credit for it. dave calls him that.clickie wrote:lol creep and his black dave navarro..totatally looks like him.
Re: Ink Master
I missed that. I thought it was kinda rude for you to say.
Re: Ink Master
what the fuck...my pick for the winner went home. his tattoo was ugly though and the guy can't do black shading at all.
josh and tatu baby had horrible tattoos too.
