super surprised to see pfp and psi com ranked below this new record .. if ur jonesin for some janes and have not thoroughly digested pfp or psicom i really recommend you search them out for that classic janes fix .. they are much closer and by far much better than great escape artist ..

tgea is currently trying to edge out .. strays, song yet, and sat party .. and may do so .. but there is really nothing on the new record that could touch good gods or psi com .. so check em out!!! give them as much of a chance as anything with the janes name on it and you won't be disappointed. expecially psi com demos included 14th floor etc .. and about half the first pfp is brilliant plust the extras like a lil sadness, tonite, hard charger etc ..

Ritual de lo Habitual
Nothing's Shocking
Deconstruction
Live at Perkins' Palace
Help Wanted
Anytime At All
Why Something Instead of Nothing?
Porno for Pyros - Self titled
Jane's - XXX
Chewing Gum EP
Banyan - Self titled

Strays, Satellite Party, TPC, TGEA, SYTBS, GGU, TNO etc. etc., are all tied for the worst of the worst for me, so I'm not even going to bother placing them in any order.

I've never had much of a connection with Deconstruction. And I still occasionally listen to and enjoy some songs off Strays.

I often have the idea Satelite Party is underrated. I think it''s nowhere near original Jane's but the album's got it's moments. Celebrate, Insanity Rains & Ultra Payloaded could have easily been Jane's tracks post 2000. When Nuno was still in the band I think they could put on a great live show if you managed to block Etty out of the picture (which was annoyingly hard to do since she put's herself shamelessly in front of the real musicians). I was really blown away by Nuno live. Made me forget Dave in a minute. The guy's got skills.

I have the idea a lot of the negativity towards the album comes from the hate towards Etty and that the band later became more and more a joke resulting in the embarrasing PerryEtty-shite (oh, and the cover of coarse). When the band started the intentions were good I think. I found it a bold attempt to make a diverse and interesting record. The story behind it was hippiebullshit I think, but the idea to incorperate Dance, Rock an Classical music is theoreticly cool. What could Perry do after being ditched? At least he didn't name it Jane's Addiction which is also one of the positive things of this thing. If you look at the diversity of the songs it's a bit like NS I think. Some uptempo tracks, some trippy and some ballads.

I enjoyed it although it wasn't really a relevant record. Not really good, but surely better than most here think it is. I hoped the best for it. Shame Perry turned it into a Jane's Karaoke Lite show. He lost a lot of respect from the fanbase by that. Look at the difference in anticapation for the releases of Strays and TGEA. In 2003 everyone believed something legendary was possible. Now we are all happy with something not completely embarrasing. The time's they are a chaingin...........

I mean yeah, the strongest effort by Perry and friends in years, but I'm just sick of the verbal abuse by him and others. I know a lot of other better bands that I would put up with that shit. Too bad I like you guys. I think the LA Strip has finally came off on the boys. I would break a band up before I became that.

Banyan has fucking Nels Cline and Watt. No way that can be disrespected.

I'm not gonna play this game, but I will say that it blows my mind to see Strays ahead of Deconstruction. And I'm not a Strays hater (though certainly not a lover). Aside from the vocals and the lack of Perk's tribal toms, it's still the closest thing to a post-Ritual Jane's record out there. Back when it came out, I remember listening to both it and the first PFP, and being thoroughly bummed that the two couldn't be fused together. There was at least one last great Jane's record in the boys, and, while TGEA isn't a terrible record -- actually surprisingly OK -- it's not the JA we know and love. If Bob Ezrin hadn't been involved with Strays, and Martyn stayed on, *maybe* those sessions could've come closer.

Nels Cline is the best guitar player from the last 20 years. Hands down. Watt is a beast. More energy and inspiration than most people in this world, I love them!

Not counting live albums/stuff thrown together/unofficial releases. Never really listened to Banyan, I've heard some Polar Bear but can't really judge it, maybe right behind Help Wanted. If I were to list Spread I'd put it right ahead of Trust No One.
