So typical. And literally just over a month or so ago Perry/Etty said a few new songs will be released end of September. I bet they haven't even recorded a damn thing yet.

Logged in to Ticketmaster and I was hoping the tour was pushed or rescheduled but it’s straight up cancelled.

I should have known to wait until the last minute to book any travel. I also bought tickets for that sphere thing in vegas. I pretty much can't stand vegas so I'm not going to still go.

So how does it work, did the promoter pull the plug at the last second? When a tour is booked isn't the band guaranteed the money? Or was the band putting up the money themselves? Two weeks prior to a tour commencement screams of something else rather just low ticket sales right? Couldn't they have kept the shows that did sell well?

I would think low ticket sales. Put some new music out to get interest and book Irving Plaza instead.

Also I get wanting to tour and have an album out that makes sense — but where’s the planning ?! Don’t you book a tour as you finish an album or once it’s done?

If I take them at face value maybe an EP became an album and they need time, and “moving the tour a couple of months” makes sense — but you didn’t move the tour. You cancelled it.

Also my conspiracy mind goes into overdrive and I go — they moved this tour because Jane’s is in disarray, and Jane’s was probably going to be active in 2024 with music and a tour…but now I’m sure EVERYTHING is shifted.

Unless I go done rabbit hole —they moved Jane’s plans to accommodate Dave ( which would be great ), and P4P takes 2024 slot

Lastly — wasn’t there an article on their new management team? And how great they are

Nashville looked like it was also selling well. They made some odd choices though. Omaha with KC just to the south?

I bet the tour still happens, but they canceled instead of postponing because they want to book smaller rooms in some cities and probably scrap others all together. I’m sure low ticket demand played a part, and they figure if they get some music out they can drum up some more interest.

Their new management seems to have the right ideas on the bands going back to their roots and original members, but suck at putting it all together.

They could probably hire just about anyone here, at least as a consultant, and we’d do a far better job helping them get it right.

This line stuck out to me. They only started rehearsing toward the end of August. Did they decide to do more recording on a whim? If it’s an album or ends up being something more than three songs, I can see why they would want to push back.

I was just about to book my flight to Detroit today when I read this. Stuff like this is why I always fly where I can cancel the flight. Oh well, maybe there'll be something closer/more convenient when/if they reschedule.

I'm not looking deep into this because if anything was clear after the DN debacle it's that PF's management will lie rather than confront uncomfortable truths. But a couple of things are weird to me. First is that Pete wasn't notified until after the dates were booked. Who presumes that much just to cancel mere days before it's set to launch? And the use of the word campaign in their statement...it implies that there was some sort of organization for an objective that couldn't be met. As if it wasn't up to their camp to figure out all the particulars? PF has to be the luckiest "business" man on the planet. The sheer volume of what he's promised over the years that never happens is pretty impressive.

Fuck. I bought my tickets through SeatGeek. I haven't experienced this yet, but I've always heard that cancelled shows get refunded from Ticketmaster to the original purchaser. This is going to be fun figuring this out. I had two front row tickets in Atlanta too. Motherfucker.
