Supposedly being announced tomorrow on the Howard Stern show. It sounds like the bands might even be in the studio with him on air.

Pretty much same. And I somehow managed to never see them.

Sources tell me it’s called the “Sans Original Bassists” tour

Should be cool- SP are playing good sets lately. Hopefully they keep that up for this tour

Pixies are joining then?

Or, they could have Porno open and still fit in.

Haha Pumpkins are also without their OG bassist D’arcy. There was some drama about a few years back about it. I understand why she’s not part of the band though… she’s wacky

Ironically Peter Hook’s son is on bass for them and he’s very influenced by and friendly with Eric

$50ish I'd guess? I'd pay about that for those two bands.

i would be shocked if they were that low. i'm guessing 100ish. they aren't thinking they can sell arenas are they? didn't the smashing pumpkins try that a couple years ago?

If it’s amphitheaters good seats will probably be at least 200 with fees.

I saw pumpkins 4 years ago in Philly at Wells Fargo Arena. While it wasn’t completely empty you could tell it wasn’t sold out. I think they were able to sell out MSG at the very least.

I guess it depends on the venue. If it's sheds, no way it's over $50 for lawn.

It's 2022...wtf is wrong with you folks lol

Have fun though :jasper:

1980's: seeing Jane's play up the beach in small clubs for less than a 20

1990's: seeing Smashing play cherub rock in small clubs for less than a 20

1990's: seeing Jane's play up the beach at theaters then sheds then amps then lolla...a couple 20's

2000's: watching Jane's play up the beach in theaters and clubs for a few 20's

2010's: pass

2020's: seeing Jane's play with Smashing, playing the same ole songs, just way worse...priceless comedy

I'd rather take that 20 to a club and see hellride or some band of kids I've never heard of...remember when you used to make music to tour? Push the NEW record?

I suspect they will be playing Beach Life Festival in my backyard..already heard rumors of smashing playing that...it will be a few hundred bucks no doubt....to see all the bands that once were...go find what's new people...the past is a dead whore named jane's

Listening. Perry is entertaining. Billy is terrific as always. Perry’s quoting lyrics to tell stories. Previously he was asked about his siblings being tossed out of the house by his dad and said ‘sister and her boyfriend sleeping in the park had to leave home ‘cause he was dark’

Just now, he claimed that he looted during the LA riots. ‘In those days i was packing’. (A .25 caliber presumably.) Quoted P4P ‘fire and smoke on the tv’. Said he shot his gun in the air and nobody bothered him. Hard not to giggle picturing this but who knows? He was still quite an interesting artist in those days, no?

I’ll decide about the tour later. Probably go as long as i can get in for free. Concert prices are absurd. Not paying 300 bucks and a not buying nosebleeds in a fucking hockey arena. SP have been great whenever I’ve ever seen them. It’s been a long time but Corgan seems very different from Dave and Perry in that he’s always pushing his artistic envelope. So i presume they’ll play well and hard. JA? It is what it is. They’ll rock it for the 90s rockers. Like I’ve always said - we make fun here but to the world, they have a brand: JANES ADDICTION FUCKING ROCKS.

By the way, needless to say Stern knows how to interview guys he knows and likes and he has a lot of history with these cats. That plus the fact that Etty isn’t there makes this quite entertaining. It’s fun to hear stories. At least Corgan’s are likely true. Which isn’t necessarily a knock on Perry. Corgan is a pretty serious guy. Perry is always ‘on’ as the court jester/storyteller. That’s not always a bad thing.

Perry sounds hoarse.

The .25 was Peters, but they were indeed down their looting. At least if Peter's stories are true, and I'm inclined to believe they are.

This is not a co-headlining tour. Jane's is "very special guest."

I don't think they'll come anywhere near selling out these venues. A bit baffled by this. I guess they're trying really hard to make some money.

I saw Jane's at the Bowl. Good show. It was the one where Hole (they were great) opened and she went on a shitshow tirade against Perry. They cut power in response. Peter came out and played with Jane's. Nice night.

Nope. Even the nosebleeds will at least $60 at Scotiabank Arena.

The last time I saw the Smashing Pumpkins was in 2015 with Marilyn Manson. I think it was called "End of Days" tour or something like that. SP were okay, not terrific but not horrible either. I had seen them a couple of times in the 90s and this show was a bit of a deflation compared to their earlier shows.

I'll have to see if the Howard Stern is on Youtube...I'd like to hear it.

That was a very good interview on Stern. And Jane Says actually sounded really good! I got floor tix for the MSG show. Sadly it looks like there is no pit. WTF! All seats.

Cheap seats are $46. Floor $147.

I'll absolutely go for $46 and make an evening of it, but I'm going to wait. These venues are way too big and I'm guessing the majority will not sell out.
