Meh...oh well as long as they are having fun I guess
Meh is exactly right. Jeez. Did we really need a totally mediocre rehash of STP without even the vocal copy-cat powers of Weiland, in 2021? This is geriatric mush for aging GenXers who've lost their teeth.
I saw something being rehearsed on an Instagram story. Guess they're going to do a Deconstruction song. I forgot what song. Iris?
Yeah I didn't get a chance to listen to it but it would be cool if they played a Decon song

Yep there was a clip of them rehearsing Iris and they even tagged Eric in it. Dave was playing the bassline on acoustic and Chris was playing the guitar line on bass. Hopefully they play it the right it way live. Crazy that a Decon song is gonna be played live for the first time ever
Side note- they also did an interview for rollingstone on twitch and it’s pretty clear all three of them are really happy playing in this project more so than Foos and Janes.
It was also implied that Chaney has almost quit Janes multiple times out of sheer frustration. Noticing a trend here…
It’s good to see Dave actually enjoying playing music for the sake of it

I didn't see this, but if it was Iris that they did, that's originally a song that Eric and Dave came up with during their Jane's days. Back then it had the working title of San Francisco. It's been awhile since I've thought about it but I believe they even sound checked the song before the ENIT show.

God, you can just hear vintage Perry singing on top of that. How that never became a Jane's song...
Which always brings me back to the "3rd (major) album" consideration, and the songs that would have been on it. I think it might have been better than anything prior with Blood Rag, Iris, Suffer Some, etc

No way they'd have topped Ritual.
I don't understand the immense love around here for a song like Iris. It's a good song but it's not anywhere close to being as good as songs like Three days, Stop, Ain't no right, Then she did, BCS. Same with Suffer some.

Guess I'm in the minority but I think a 3rd proper album would have been up there with NS RdlH

Crater you’re right I totally forgot. They also opened with it when Perry was late to a show. But holy cow I’ve never heard this one until now. Also where’d you see the ENIT tidbit? Would’ve been wild to hear with Flea.
Man you put this version of Iris on a third record that opens with Kettle Whistle (Eric version)… game over
