Just a thought here....maybe DN aligned himself with PF over this not because EA did the interview, but who he did the interview for. Like someone mentioned, he himself wasn't immune to publicly airing his grievances and neither was PF during the pre Panic Channel and PC days. The 1.0 audience here is somewhat inhumane in the Etty thread and elsewhere at times. I do remember seeing DN interviewing EA.....I think it was when EA reversed himself and confirmed to rejoin the band that he (DN) couldn't go to this (Xiola) site because it was too brutal, to which EA replied that he found it amusing. And all that was well before the Etty thread.

Doubt it.
I think it's probably what was said behind the scenes that no one really knows about. EA vented in the Xiola interview that he was frustrated with Perry because he never got a chance to jam on any new music (During the Reznor sessions AND on tour), but it's not like he told the actual stories of any arguments that were had between the band members.
EA probably called out DN and Perk for not standing up to Perry. They probably told him not to let the door hit him in the ass on the way out.
Did anyone save those EA/Xiola interviews? Can we reupload them somewhere and review the tape?

Was just a thought. But I for one would think that DN and Perk would have wanted to explore new music with 1.0 and not continue with the cover band of themselves mentality that ultimately EA wasn't down with. Somewhere in there is a quote (if I remember correctly) where EA labels PF's music 'unlistenable'. That probably left a mark.

yeah he deleted them all and then decided to put them back up. knowing him he has probably deleted them and put them back up many times since. probably a good idea to save them

IIRC Sonny took down the videos when he torched everything from his site, and EA got in touch to point out that the interviews were for the wider, interested fanbase (all 20 of us) and so he put them back up again?
I may have imagined some or all of that however, happy to be corrected.
I am, however, totally confident that I remember Dave somewhere talking about Eric badmouthing him and it not being the public interviews - i.e. word had got back to him about things EA had been saying (not publically) to other parties.

28 years ago. My son is just under DN and SP's age there. And in just 2 years from then, they were already a different band in '91. Great in both.

I saw the 4/21/89 show there - this was the show my friend and I weaseled right up to the rail on Dave's side and some crazy bitch trying to get in front of me bit me on my shoulder (still got the scar). They had so much smoke coming from the fog machines we couldn't see much more then Dave right in front of us for most of the show.
