I would guess that anything less "rawk" was intentionally used as music for the montages. Was anything from the album in the montages? Also, even some of their "rawk" songs have cool little breakdowns, and then it's back to the crap.

Several. There was a 4 minute behind the scenes one with snippets of Twisted Tales and Irresistable Etty along with another instrumental jam.

I'll bet there are hard drives with all sorts of cool stuff on them that will never see the light of day while the material from 1991 gets re-released for the 87th time.

Perry supposedly guested at Visconti's ongoing Bowie tribute tour when they played the LA Wiltern this week along with numerous guest singers like Sting, Ian Astbury, The Def Leppard singer, the guy from Slipknot and the backup singer for The Rolling Stones (who sounded the best of the bunch) so I assume Perry cajoled Visconti to waste a few hours in a nearby studio recording this track.
