Not to mention, Eric was also very complimentary of Perry (when it was warranted) in the xiola interview.
At the end of the day,all of those pornstars and strippers aren't going to pay for themselves, are they Dave?

Yeah, Eric gives credit where credit is due.

I'm all for it. Just make some new music. How hard can it be to come up with a 4-6 new song ep? These guys are music veterans. They are just lazy (except Steve and Chris).
how many songs do they currently play from their last two albums? i can only think of one. why make new music when you won't play it.

Eric gave credit, but he also talked a ton of shit. I remember cringing at the number of times he said "douche chills." He definitely seemed a little pretentious at times.
I don't know. I don't think a single one of them is as cool as we ever might have thought. At least not anymore.

The guy gave the interview for the loyal and longstanding fans. Ea said nothing surprising. That he said them was.
Dn is simply taking a lazy, if convenient position. Like his band, he's just a cliche now....a bad cover of his former self

I will guarantee the HOF lobbying has already begun. Perry is probably selling off songs to commercials to afford it.
Jane's will go in, in 2018. 30 years after NS.
There will be a "farewell" tour after that, which will be very few shows and last about two years. It will be a 74 minute set.
Jane's goes defunct in 2021 after playing the 30th anniversary of Lollapalooza as their "final" show.
Then Perry does charity gigs for big money as "Jane's Remembered" with Pete on guitar and 2 hired guns on bass and guitar. Etty will sing with him.
Dave and Perk will sue and get a settlement of 1 million a piece to give up their share of the Jane's profits. Chaney will join Beck's band.
Then Perry will start releasing terrible compilations, at least 5-6, of "Jane's Greatest Hits" and "Jane's Ultimate Hits" to milk its final drops.
He'll sell Lollapalooza after Lolla's 33rd year.
Etty then divorces him and takes half.
Then Perry goes on tour in his mid 60s just to sell the meet and greet opportunities for 500 bucks a piece.
Bookmark this post. I'm right.

And to promote his upcoming immersive theatre project, that should be ready in just a couple of years.

Dude has a new watch weekly.
Is there a rent a expensive watch place?? You know like a Netflix for Rolex's? Rent a $34,000 Rolex Yacht-master II for 30 days for only $8000 a month....

Maybe Hollywood really does have to die before anything ever becomes common again.

I remember back during the Ritual tour before they started the Lollapalooza leg Perry and possibly Dave as well said basically the same thing. That they could play the songs in their sleep, didn't need to rehearse despite (or because of) the tensions in the band, likely because at the time they were a touring machine.

he can say that because they sound fine. They lock in with each other cause they're pros, they wouldn't sound much better, if better at all, if they rehearsed a week before a show

True that, in so far as they could probably make a reasonable go at the "usual setlist" in their sleep, but it's gotta also be one of the reasons they don't (can't) mix it up with much else from their songbook. I wonder when the last time they played "Price I Pay" together was? 2003 probably.

I think he was partially joking/exaggerating. Faux-self-deprecation/humility.
It's more interesting that he admits to not liking the "funkier" sounding songs like Idiot's Rule and Standing in the Shower... I wonder if it's because it's not wanky metal shit? But he kinda has a point that that was a style at the time (RHCP).
Also, his on-air persona is a dick.
