Robert Smith is not a lazy performer.

Maybe he needs an Etty.

Three hours Janes set would only ever happen in our imaginations.

Roxy 87 show was pretty long. But soooo long ago and we know what happened to that.

The guys holding instruments could do it.

Perry would complain because he'd have to rehearse, remember lyrics, and take care of his voice.

Etty would complain that she can only flip her hair so many times a day and without damaging it, and her knee can't handle dropping and popping her ass twice as many times.

It would never happen because of the Farrells, basically.

Yeah because Dave seems like he really wants to be on stage any more than the rest of them. :/

Just consider who you always see videos of in the jam room before the show.

3 of those dudes are in there playing for awhile.... 30 minutes? An hour?... Before they hit the stage for their 75 minute set.

Cumulatively I'd say the instrumental members are playing their instruments 2.5 to 3 hours a day on show days anyway.

And who is usually singing in the jam room? Never Perry. And he certainly doesn't do a whole lot of singing onstage or even do most of the melodies correctly.

The guys with instruments could do a 3 hour show.

The guy who claims that he owns the band has no interest or inclination.

Could, sure. But do they want to any more than Perry does? I have my doubts.

Personally, I don't want to see any band for 3 hours. Jane's 1.0 doesn't even have 3 hours, for them to play 3 hours we'd have to get some Strays/TGEA.

I would personally welcome a set of nothing BUT Strays/TGEA at this point.

It's not like they have ever actually made an effort to play any of those songs live.

Bubble boy. In a perfect world Perry'd follow in Bowie's footsteps. Instead he settle's for a few-months-late cover of an uninspired cover of "Rebel Rebel".

Who wants a three hour set from janes?

V1.0 would never have done that, leave it to Aerosmith etc. Admittedly Trevor's set-list would be pretty cool but weren't we complaining about that rockstar back to back thing Dave and Perry do now which they never did in the olden days?

I went to the Milan show last week. It was fun. The lyrics to those songs are still beautiful and amazing, Dave didn't seem bored to me and Chaney was indeed well into it. Ha ha, Eric is still there at those shows whether they like it or not, every song hinges on his bass-lines and Chaney plays them fantastically (I've now decided I prefer him to Martyn)

It was nice to hear No-ones leaving, Obvious and Of Course for the first time. I think Of Course suits Perry better than the rockier stuff an is more in line with his theatrical ambitions.

Naturally its different to the first run. It is a shame that only Eric really cares about their legacy

That whole suspension thing is pretty disturbing but its something different and was an apt accompaniment to Ted.

These types of sets with Peter and Martyn (replacing Chaney) would have been the best thing they could have done short of actually doing something worth a shit with Eric again.

ya but their philosophy as a band was always "leave em wanting more" since day one...so it's just a silly convo

or another approach might be to play a 3 night stand no repeats ....

many years ago rollins band played 2 nights in a row at cbgb no repeats except for the encore ... which was 'crazy lover' and 'hollow man' with vernon reid guest on guitar .. pretty great!! ... pretty hot and sweaty but pretty great!

lets ramp it up and make a 4th night!!!

of course (circus avery mix)
embrace the darkness
suffer some 86
packin 25
hardcharger
everybodys friend
standing in the shower (acoustic)
to me
nua nua (chip away style)
irresistable force (fixed)
trip away
xiola
14th floor
orgasm
idiots
had a dad
la sarina
stop
la medley
thank you boys
city

:boobs: :balls: :aoa:   :ns:

tool opened for rollins both nights on their opiate tour ... i was hooked ...

robert smith sings all the time ... tours a lot ... plays a lot of shows ... perry does not sing at all between random gigs .. that is why his voice does not hold up anymore ... prince could sing for 4 hours .. bruce (not a fan) 4 hours .. phish .. well they could never sing for shit .. but u get the idea

AND Robert Smith sounds exactly as he did 30 years ago....

The Cure sounded awesome! Where else do you see a 80's-90's band that can still sellout MSG? They are few and far between
