I'm laughing on the outside and crying on the inside.
Correct that. I'm crying on the outside, too.
(At least this was pre-veneers. I'M TRYING TO BE POSITIVE HERE, PEOPLE).

Re: Why??
I've just heard the first video for the first time today... and it's almost disturbing. I mean, the music is technically wrong. There are things that should be sounding at the same time but they're not. There's a delay, and not in a good-groovy way. It's fucked up. Why would you do that, why would you even upload a video of something so poor at the most basic of levels.
It's almost disturbing because I can totally see how a mentally ill person couldn't recognise that.
Oh, and Perry (if this is Perry making the music) insists on creating repetitive electronic music without a deep bass. That shit was done and dusted around fucking 1993, get on with the fucking times. Nobody is going to play this shit at ANY club, unless they want to vacate it. Seriously, I'd use this track if there's a fire in my club and I need people to get out as quickly as possible.

You guys don't know how much I'd like to see this guy getting punched in the face by someone who can't stand his delusion anymore.Perry wrote:Well, I hope that gives you some inspiration

Re: Why??
I'd actually like a sticky thread where all the horrible Perry stuff can be archived. It's important to the knowledge of future generations. Or the space aliens doing digital forensics as part of the cleanup phase.

Last night I was thinking about extracting the audio of some of his awful shit that's on the Internet to create some sort of album.CaseyContrarian wrote:I'd actually like a sticky thread where all the horrible Perry stuff can be archived. Doesn't anyone still have that? Who was that?
Re: Why??
wasn't Trevor was it? Whoever it was the guy was pretty pleased with himself for i.e. chopping up the audio and making these weird arrangements. I think he called it "fixed" or something..pretty funny. I'd love to hear a minute or two again, but not moreSix7Six7 wrote:Remember when that one moron "remixed" TGEA?nausearockpig wrote:too late:Larry B. wrote:Last night I was thinking about extracting the audio of some of his awful shit that's on the Internet to create some sort of album.CaseyContrarian wrote:I'd actually like a sticky thread where all the horrible Perry stuff can be archived. Re: Why??
For EDM-style it actually ain't that superbad although totally generic. The question remains why this man doesn't put his energy in more sustainable music. Nobody is waiting on something like this from him. I think it's kind of giving a big "fuck you" to the last few people who actually give a fuck about what he does. That, or this man is totally brainwashed by his own Yoko Ono.

Re: Why??
It's just such a dramatic, surreal 180° from what we all dug that I continually vacillate from disbelief, disappointment, being pissed on some level and head-shaking laughter. I agree, Eric B- I'm starting to think that he hates being told what to do and meeting other people's expectations (like myself), and is giving us all the finger. I just wish it was with kick-ass polka music or something with an equal bizarreness and creativity akin to his early creativity.
Re: Why??
Well, back in 1997 he DID say "electronica" (as it was known then) was the future of music, and he stuck Prodigy on the Lollapalooza bill that summer.
So what if it took him twenty years to getting around to making some of his own that sounds like an absolutely ball-less version of what was being done back then.
He's proving that it truly is the future. Perry was right!
