I'd never heard that early version of True Nature before - not the Hyperleaked version but the one in the YouTube clip.
Is there a full bootleg of demos with this rougher sound?
Thanks.

A shit ton of hallucinogenics? Wow, how edgy of you. Must've been super amazing balls, you know, with all the trippin from the shit ton of hallucinogenics you were on that time, you know? And I'm sure it wasn't the only time either, I'm sure you've been on a shit ton of hallucinogenics many times, maybe even regularly. I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if you're on a shit ton of hallucinogenics right now. I can feel your edge right here, right here sort of cutting my ears with that edge of yours, so sharp because of the shit ton of hallucinogenics you were on that night.Juana wrote:I was on a shit ton of hallucinogenics so yeah they were fun compared to that boring ass version of Janes

Re: Strays early version?
Hi! I know this is an old post, but, can someone please re upload those early versions of Strays?
Here's is the link for the video of Jane's Addiction - 12-11-2003 - Hammersmith Carling Apollo, London, England. I uploaded it yesterday. I remember that I downloaded it many years ago with some software, but I totally forgot I had it on my old computer.

Wow, I can't believe they put 7 strays songs in the set. Should have played slow divers in full!

Unfortunately I didn't make it past the beginning of up the back due to those atrocious synths. What in the Fuck were they thinking? Makes the "pew pews" of today seem tolerable.

Re: Strays early version?
I got into Jane's when NS came out. I was in 7th grade and my friend had a shitty cassette by them. I really didn't get completely into them until about 1990. The first Lolla was amazing and the Palladium shows were insane and scary on how good they were. Janes and P4P got through college and had a screening room in my dorm of The Gift on repeat. Everybody in my Dorm section were there. Looking back at it I don't know if that would fly in college campuses these days. Everything has gotten so PC. On a side note. I remember at the Depeche Mode Violator concert at dodger stadium I saw Perry and Casey and some friends. I remember standing in line with Perry and Casey and was just amazed how cool they where. Of course I didn't say anything to them. Too many people trying to talk with them.
Re: Strays early version?
I think they sound pretty good and they seem to be having fun. They should 've stopped there...Noonesshocking wrote:Thanks for the upload. 2003 footage is rare!Street Funk wrote:Hi! I know this is an old post, but, can someone please re upload those early versions of Strays?

creep wrote:yes there is an early version. i like it better. back when xiola was around some guy came on and said that he had the album early. sonny called bullshit and the guy sent it to him. sonny made the famous post and review that "you guys will fucking love this album". he shared it with dain and told him not to share it. of course dain gave it to everyone. i don't have it on my computer anymore or i would upload it. i'm sure someone has it.
Dain aka Adolf shared it with me and i wasn''t supposed to share it, but i shared it with everyone - that's actually how that went
Re: Strays early version?
oh - and i still have it if anybody needs it

Re: Strays early version?
I think it's way better than TGEA. There were quite few that loved it. It was a strange time. As KV said there was so much excitement around the band. The new years eve before the album came out the band sent people that had signed up on their site a short "happy new year" message with a little happy new year song. It was like the greatest thing ever at the time. Back then Perry could do no wrong and everything was blamed on Dave. It was a very rough time for Six7Six7.Mescal wrote:Did you?Krink wrote:creep wrote: "you guys will fucking love this album".

I signed up in 2004 I think, after their Paradiso show in Amsterdam.
I should have signed up before the concert, because there was some sort of instore concert the day before in an Amerterdam record shop which was announced on the site ...

It was like being Neil Degrasse Tyson at a flat earth convention.

Yeah, I missed that Concerto-concert as well. It was a bummer finding out afterwards. The Paradiso show was great though.

Not a very good album overall - but not horrible...but that version was by far better than the released album
i just got an email about a place having the Alive at Twenty-Five limited colored vinyl.....i listened to it and man - i read there's only 500 of each color being printed but it isn't really that good and im not sure its even worth the $32 for the limited colored vinyl
it sounds like they're playing all the songs from Ritual just a little slower....why would i wanna listen to a live slower version of Ritual
