I think it's a good album cover outside of the context of it being a Jane's album cover (the same way I feel about IF).

The Strays album cover is terrible, regardless of context.

I stopped caring about album art when cd's kinda died out and everything became mp3's...its not bad...could be worse (see Strays)...reminds me of the animation in Coraline...as far as it being JA as it relates to their previous covers, while I dug the Ritual and NS covers its always the MUSIC that is the bottom line anyways...

I wanna get my hands on vinyl of XXX, NS, Ritual and either Live and Rare or KW and frame them in long tall wall hanging.. I'd have them open so the back and front covers are showing but i'd need to cut them up so the front is on the left and the back on the right.. or maybe high quality scans...

Anyway, I KNOW that strays wouldn't make the cut of albums to frame. EVER. I doubt this one will either..

1. i like it for most of the reasons previously discussed.
2. although sometimes album art is good, I've never cared much about it. it's all about the music, and the music on these two albums sounds equally good.

3. etty has a really nice tuchus.

Have to say that Etty's got a really nice ass. So much so that I wouldn't mind seeing it a bit closer...

The album cover itself looks very early 90s. It's like a JA version of the cover of P4P's debut. It's got some of that same vibe. It's obviously about escaping the chains of the mind – and fucking etty (of course).

Can't agree with that. Jane's 1.0 was an all-enveloping sensory experience. It was not about skimping on any front. Truly great album art both informs and compliments the music, and vice versa. It can actually change the way that the music is thought about and experienced, just like their live performance style did.

We don't experience any one sensory thing in a vacuum. We might think we do, but we do not. To believe so would be giving short shrift to the complexities of our minds.
