The cover is shite and is not inspiring any confidence in the new album. It looks like a late PS2 video game cut scene to me which does not equate with album timelessness or longevity. Whereas all three of the original album covers hold up. It is almost on par with Strays. Not a hater(fuckin' hate that term). :tiphat: Respect to everyone else's opinion. Gotta agree Good God's Urge was a proper Jane's Addiction album cover as well.

Clearly all Perry did was ripped off the video for Tool's "Sober"

Agree...But the thing is those guys have maintained it.. I personally would be happy with a shit album cover as long as there was 3 awesome songs and 2 good ones out of the 10

BUT this album cover as I said before is pretty cool when you analyze everything in there. Only thing better is if the computer screen had the ANR board on it.

My first response was, damn here we go again. But, after a minute I kind of liked it. Really reminds me of the P4P record in almost every way. I always loved all the little hidden stuff and elements of Ritual. To me this is weird Perry in a good way. Hell, it beats the crap out of Satellite party. Even if its a knock at the online community, I say its a good thing. The guy is trying to stir shit up again. And yeah, 9 pages of discussion on it, enough said.

Let's take a vote:

If the cock area wasn't so enormous, and Etty wasn't on the wall, would we like it far more?

I vote yes.

Yeh I saw that. Maybe we should all tweet him and say there's a 700 page discussion on it on ANR.

I vote no.

If PF's area wasn't as large, I'd have to wear my glasses. This way I can see his unit and Etty is fuzzy in the background.

TGEA album cover is adequate for 2011 Jane's, and much better than the Strays cover. It will probably overshadow the music lying underneath it when it finally gets released, but that could just be me being cynical.

And I'll take an album cover with a nude bimbo wall poster and some douche with a big schlong hugging himself over Native American Smurf ANY day: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/e ... 3110.L.jpg

Overall I like the album cover. We asked for something that was creative and unlike the horrid Strays cover. Using those guidelines, looks like Perry delivered to me.

The overall scene reminds me of Ritual (similarities in the structure of the clay figure versus paper mache Perry) and also the trippiness of some of the clay figures from Primus album art (think Pork Soda or Antipop).

It may not have the same artistic sense that NS and Ritual had, but Perry at least put forth effort into the visual aspects of this album. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the album layout.

Now Perry will sue Capitol or Amazon for releasing his art without proper permission. I'm sure you've just caused the album to be pushed back a couple of years.

Yeah they don't like the online communities much since we're so jaded to the new stuff and the Perry/Etty crappy laptop techno they're doing.
