Per ja.org, they did a brief tease of "Of Course" 10/18/2012 in San Francisco at The Warfield, otherwise haven't really played it since Janes 1.0 (08/22/1991 in Dallas Lollapalooza at Starplex Amphitheatre).

And per Sonny's Eric interview a while back, they tried rehearsing a new version of it like once during Eric's return, but it wasn't perfect out of the gate and they're very lazy (Perry), so they scrapped that idea and never tried it again.

They have 3 songs to rehearse. Mainly two. No Ones Leaving should be pretty easy. They need to rehearse Of Course and Obvious. I agree probably Ritual plus Ocean Size and Jane Says. Obvious sounded really good when I saw it in 09. I hope they don't drop Of Course. It would be fucking awesome to bring Morgan along and leave the Suspension Girls at home if they need to save money! Hopefully they add more shows b/c I have no trips to Austin planned at the moment! And yes, this Band's die hard fans hate them! This is cool news. At a huge festival though Then She Did, Of Course, and Classic Girl may not go over so well. I hope they play this in smaller venues too.

They will definitely play the full album... someone will tell Perry how pivotal and important the record is, and he will hold onto that comment and use it as the reason to argue against "parties" that may get upset about songs about exes or other touchy subjects....

They did Classic Girl plenty of times on TGEA tour. I think Of Course is a song that was never played a whole in 1.0. I hope they play it. I'm sure they will.

When are they going to so a *special show* just for us lot in some seedy back street club somewhere? Maybe they thought about it and pulled the plug due to lack of interest. :noclue:

Since I'm turning 40, I guess I'm mushy and wouldn't mind going to see a Ritual show  It was a milestone for me at 15/16.

They're playing about 10 minutes from me in July. I was on the fence about going but if it's full RdlH show then I think I'll do it.

Haven't seen them since Lolla 2003. I skipped the 1.0 reunion shows because I didn't want my memories of the '90/'91 shows tainted.

Anyone know if the summer club shows are also Ritual shows?

Do you guys ever think the day will come that Dave or Chaney step up to the mic and sing some of the stuff that Perry no longer can/will?

To much work for Dave and Chaney would just piss off and join The Cult (who are looking for a new bass player, btw).

Oh shit. Someone tell Avery. He could use a new band to quit.

Just need a boss pitch shifter, and delay pedal and they could emulate perry...

Cheney should. Jane's and the Cult shared Martyn. They might as well share Cheney

I'm NOT in the "Fuck you guys for playing the Ritual album live in its entirety" camp.

I'm in the "Fuck you guys for existing without Eric...and Perry not being able to sing" camp. If Eric was still in the band and Perry could still sing, I'd be fine with the set list being "My Cat's Name Is Maceo" performed ten times in a row and "Thank You Boys" as the encore.

Yep. Hungry.

Then Perry sang, I think, Happy Birthday Jubilee with Dave on guitar.

It's weird. I want to be excited about these shows. Then I think about Etty up there dancing and Perry's buoffont hair and giant white teeth and I can't.

And how badly the songs will sound

Paradiso Amsterdam 1991 was among the best shows I've ever seen. It was everything that rock and roll and punk rock and performance can be. Of course with Morgan is indelibly etched in my mind forever. To create that sort of tribal stomp in the midst of an hour of primal explosiveness is something that mere mortal bands can only dream of.

The upcoming RDLH shows won't be as good. :deadhorse:

But I'll go. Once.

Then I'll go back to reading what total shit they are, as recited by their only remaining fans.

Of course I'm going. Then She Did every show. Come on. Who knows, maybe they'll bring Morgan out, or maybe the Dude from the Mt Baldy show! I'm just hoping that Stop will not have the Suspension girls anymore!

you're flying out for this festival, or just going if/when it comes to a theater near you? if the former, you'd best confirm that the advertisement is accurate. i have a feeling it's a misprint. if not, it's about the lamest roll out for a theme tour as can be imagined. the NS leadup was impressive - many people i know who know i like(d) jane's heard about it and mentioned it to me. none of them had any reason to utter the words 'jane's addiction' in many years before that.

You say that, but as a percentage, 0.005% of the crowd is probably someone from these boards. So there must be still a heavy following. To be fair if they did a Ritual UK club circuit (which they won't) I would go to two or three near me that weren't in London.

I'm not going to Austin unless I have a work thing there. I'm sure they'll be playing other shows as well. I bet there'll be some Brooklyn Bowl Vegas shows around Thanksgiving. I'd consider going there for the Ritual shows.

You can be assured of it. There is no way Perry is going to learn an additional 2 songs and get used to a 9 song set to just NOT play it for the next 2 years.
