No One's Leaving is actually one of my favorite janes songs. I shudder to think how Perry will sound on that now

Nice!

Ritual Plus Whores and Ocean Size would be awesome!

It'll be Ritual minus Of Course + Jane Says!

Then again the info could be wrong and it's Nothing Shocking again!

EDIT: perhaps I should read the links in these threads :lolol:

Either way I will have Homie Passes again this year so I will likely watch that train wreck since it's free.. unless Wu-Tang is playing the same time.

If this was with Eric I would pay top dollar.

They're about out of albums to perform that anyone cares about.

As would I.

In a weird way, I can see no downside to Eric contracting on for one gig of a ritual performance. He could only add value at this point. Nobody would have any illusions about it leading to anything more.

I see what you're all doing with the cranky pants and low expectations :wavesad:, but they'll play Then She Did for sure.. They played it at the two Aussie shows I went to in 2010 and Etty was there for both of those... or at least the first one in BrisBANE..

So they'll flog Ritual for the next year and then what........? Will Summer 2016 bring a full album performance tour of Strays?

I wonder if Perry will do the Sex Drugs and Rock n' Roll bit while swinging a bottle of Dobel.

They've just about wrung the corpse of Jane's Addiction dry as an old Autumn leaf.

Maybe they'll get some rubber suits that look like them in 1.0 (faces and hair and all) made up and just become a travelling nostalgia show playing all the 1.0 songs only dressed up in the 1.0 suits..... ahahah

Let me fix that for you so it's entirely clear whom is saying what:

I'm hopeful they'll do it justice (but yeah, would be pleasantly surprised.) How cool would it be if they brought back out now-grey-haired Morgan on violin?

More intriguing than NS, when is the last time they played Of Course? They might actually rehearse

I'm fairly certain ritual is longer than NS even though its 9 tracks. They'll have to tailor the setlist accordingly. Here's my prediction:

Stop!
No One's Leaving
Ain't No Right
Obvious
Been Caught Stealing
Three Days
...Then She Did
Classic Girl

E.
Jane Says
Ocean Size

(note: "of course" omitted because its hard to play)

It will be interesting to see if they actually play the full album.

This would be the first Of Course since I don't know when. Interestingly, it generally requires an additional musician. I guess they could use a recording, because adding another musician doesn't seem like something they're too apt to do, even if said musician could also play on Then She Did, and even Classic Girl (Morgan played that at least once, right?). Another thing about Of Course is that it's very dependent on Perry's singing, because his voice is out in the open. Maybe he'll sing along with prerecorded backing vocals.

Obvious was tricky for them in 2009. They'd miss cues, Perry would fudge lyrics, etc. Regardless of those issues, it was still a highlight of the show I saw.

Per ja.org, they did a brief tease of "Of Course" 10/18/2012 in San Francisco at The Warfield, otherwise haven't really played it since Janes 1.0 (08/22/1991 in Dallas Lollapalooza at Starplex Amphitheatre).

And per Sonny's Eric interview a while back, they tried rehearsing a new version of it like once during Eric's return, but it wasn't perfect out of the gate and they're very lazy (Perry), so they scrapped that idea and never tried it again.

They have 3 songs to rehearse. Mainly two. No Ones Leaving should be pretty easy. They need to rehearse Of Course and Obvious. I agree probably Ritual plus Ocean Size and Jane Says. Obvious sounded really good when I saw it in 09. I hope they don't drop Of Course. It would be fucking awesome to bring Morgan along and leave the Suspension Girls at home if they need to save money! Hopefully they add more shows b/c I have no trips to Austin planned at the moment! And yes, this Band's die hard fans hate them! This is cool news. At a huge festival though Then She Did, Of Course, and Classic Girl may not go over so well. I hope they play this in smaller venues too.

They will definitely play the full album... someone will tell Perry how pivotal and important the record is, and he will hold onto that comment and use it as the reason to argue against "parties" that may get upset about songs about exes or other touchy subjects....

They did Classic Girl plenty of times on TGEA tour. I think Of Course is a song that was never played a whole in 1.0. I hope they play it. I'm sure they will.

When are they going to so a *special show* just for us lot in some seedy back street club somewhere? Maybe they thought about it and pulled the plug due to lack of interest. :noclue:
