Basically, yeah.

They played that John Varvatos store, remember?

That's in the middle of the lower east side of Manhattan and I was in the neighborhood last week...not a mall...stores are ok imo, especially if they're at least near something cool...but if they play in a mall with the stage across from a Forever 21 and a Footlocker I'll have to start cosigning on this section of the site...

They played in Mexican restaurants and pizza joints before. If Eric was on this tour everyone here would be jumping for joy. I wonder how this tour is selling. I think the NJ and Long Island Huntington shows will sell ok. I can't really see any crowd in Port Chester. I hope they have a good turn out.

The sad part is the tour starts in a few weeks and I think Perkins is the only one who mentioned it..and he's the least social media savvy member of the band.

portchester will do okay. it's a terrific theater in a cool little town, and shows sell well there.
did any of the new yorkers here happen to go up to that very theater for porno 4 pyros in 96 or so? the capitol had some legendary shows in the 60s thru the 80s and was then broken down and only occasionally used for many years. and it was in a real armpit ghetto hood. i tripped balls for a very freaky p4p show and then went to a local bar and hung with some soulful brothers and sisters after the show.

peter shapiro (the guy who put the chicago grateful dead madness this summer together) took it over a few years back and renovated the shit out of it. it plays a lot of hippy bands - phil lesh damned near lives there with his bands, and the bar in the lobby is called 'garcia's' but lots of other bands play there too and it's a nice place with a better vibe and crowd than anything in or around huntington. also a block from metro north.

Yeah I remember that P4P show in Port Chester in 96. I remember getting hammered there and tried to get backstage after the show. The bouncer took a $20 off me and shoved me out a side door! Good Times. I was also there a couple of months back for the Wilco 20th anniversary shows. It's a cool theater.

How exactly did they go from charging 40 bucks and only filling 1/4 of the venue, to selling tickets for $125 a piece?

Did Etty ask for a raise or something?

i'm sure quite a bit but jane's could give a shit. a sold ticket means money in etty's $5000 purse.

Fucking blows....they're still enjoyable for what they've become in a club environment but NOT for 125 bucks!

Well the club set the price not the artist...very likely JA charged what they normally do and they're over charging to cover their ass...

Wait a minute...

If jane's was selling tickets for 40 bucks and 1/2 filling venues, maybe they just decided to set a higher ticket price and just sell less tickets.

So instead of 3000 tickets at 40 bucks a piece, maybe they are selling 1500 tickets at 125 bucks a piece.

I'm not sure as it varys from venue to venue, but whenever I booked known acts I had to hit em with at least half of their money up front and they did have a say in the ticket price. I see the logic though, it's a smaller venue for them and the club still has to make it worth their while. If I was still living close by I might entertain the idea. After all tickets were going for that during the Strays era and I bought one then...but of course, we are a LONG ass way from 2003...

Hahaha, no he definitely does not.

In Angelo's words, they live the "Lifestyle of the Famous But Not Rich".

At least until recently, he was living in his mom's house. Very sad that as talented as they are, they've never achieved large notoriety among the masses.
