Here Comes the Sun
Re: Here Comes the Sun
that twitter video of Dave poking the guy in front of him is (dan) CLEAR(L)Y a coach seat. I fly a lot and there are lots and lots of flights with two seat banks. six seven, you are crazy on this one.
Re: Here Comes the Sun
Depends on the airline and their fleet. Delta, AA and United fly Boeing 767.bman wrote:where are you guys getting that flight info from?
I fly all the time and there are no flights 2 X 4 X 2 anymore. What is that?
United and American fly Boeing 777
Jet Blue are all Airbus 320 & 321's which are all 3 X 3 (except for the Embraer 190 which is 2 X 2, I take this plane to Dulles because it's a 40 min flight)
Southwest are all 737 3 X 3
Re: Here Comes the Sun
I believe it also depends on the configuration or re-configuration of the airlines order. I don't think that any airline is beholden to the "stock" specs on seating . The new Airbus A380 is a great example. It seats anywhere from 400 to 800 depending on order demands.
Re: Here Comes the Sun
That 380 is sick. Too big! They had to lengthen the main runway at JFK to accommodate that monster.
Though I have to say Emirates A380 is pretty swanky!

Yeah, it's cool. I live by LAX and rode my bike down like a regular Homer for the first landing here; it was swamped!Romeo wrote:That 380 is sick. Too big! They had to lengthen the main runway at JFK to accommodate that monster.

If that beast was landing as I'm driving on the Belt Parkway, I'd shit my pants. The planes land right over your car as your driving by.SR wrote:Yeah, it's cool. Re: Here Comes the Sun
It was impressive, but the way it's designed, the ample extra room say than that of the 747 is vertical rather than horizontal. That's not to say it isn't HUGE, but almost awkward in flight. I rode down for the Shuttle piggy-backing on the 747 escorted by f-18's too.....that was great as well. They took like 3 slow speed fly bys!Romeo wrote:If that beast was landing as I'm driving on the Belt Parkway, I'd shit my pants. If you give a guy a jacket, sometimes they're gonna wear it...creep wrote:do you really have to always let us know when you do not approve what we are discussing in a thread? maybe you can resist the urge.
Carry on then...

I fucking hate Elmo...so fuck you Elmo!

That's how I feel about the people who live near the airport here. When you land in Mexico City, it's like you are watching all the landmarks and then you're landing on top of someone's house. I really don't know how pilots do it. I would have a nervous breakdown trying to land here.Romeo wrote:If that beast was landing as I'm driving on the Belt Parkway, I'd shit my pants. I went to Maho Beach and drank at the Sunset bar but I only saw (and felt) a jet take off. I didn't see any land.
