I had no idea ja.org was still a thing. This JA community has evolved into a cold war type of situation. They are behind the iron curtain and I have no idea what's going on there.

Some of the people in this group are genuinely good writers. Some are really funny. Some are extremely musically knowledgeable. Some are quite music industry knowledgeable. Some are douchebags (but douchebags that I'd almost certainly hang with). Some post too much. Some too little. Some hate a bit too much. Some not enough. Most have at least some conflicting thoughts reconciling their love/hate relationship with JA. All like Perkins. None like Etty. All get along. Incredible.

I'm some of those things. And since the 90s, there's been one and only one musical forum/listserv/community I've belonged to and read consistently. This one.

And it's not because I'm such a huge fan. Their best years/moments are high on my list of faves but they moved on and so did I.

It's because to the best of my knowledge this is a completely unique community.

Kudos to all of you and thanks to those who've kept it going.

Maybe i'll meet one of you one day.

I think it goes to show that the band that ultimately brought us here was so diverse that it made this online community pretty diverse. I only post here and on a guitar forum consistently and a lot of that is for the reasons you listed.
