I'm sure the live broadcast made it extra exciting, but remember that this was Halloween. Almost everyone in that place was dressed up and going nuts. The theatrical freakshow wasn't just on the two stages, it was throughout the audience. Halloween in New York, man.

I was on the rail in the floor level opera box on dave's side - a few feet from perry's summertime rolls platform. if you were near there, me and my girlfriend were the ones tossing kit kats and other treats at the crowd. a truly spectacular freak show. who can ever forget perry's giggling about the mtv camera boom being pulled into the crowd? 'yeahhhh, you know you watch it. you watch it everyday.' hahaha

the night before may have been even better though. two spectacular nights.
