Aint No Right

So, last night I had a very strange dream...

I dreamt I was at a Jane's gig. As a surprise they decided to do cover of Prince's Purple Rain.
Perry obviously butchered it, but Dave nailed the solo perfectly.

So yeah....

I had a really weird dream that Eric came back to Jane's and they did some amazing small club shows and they were gonna record new songs with trent reznor of nine inch nails fame, but then it all devolved and eric ended up leaving. Of all people, duff mckagen from gnr/velvet revolver replaced him. So weird.

I had a dream that a bad techno beat got stuck on a loop, and Perry just kept saying "everybody! everybody!" over it while an anorexic alien floated around doing nothing.

I too had this same dream but mine was worse because they planned on making The Great Escape Artist album and recorded some of those songs with Duff..

I used to have dreams from time to time that I was seeing 1986-1988 era Jane's playing deep cuts, or things I'd never heard at all, usually in small, non-existent underground clubs. Once I dreamt I saw them play in a sparsely attended show in high school auditorium.

The weirdest was the one where I was a little kid and HQ Jane's shows were being shown on Saturday morning network television. They were showing a video version of the "Trip Away" bootleg CD (Chicago, 11/29/88) and Perry was wearing the silver jacket and cowboy hat he's wearing on the cover of that boot.

Weird, but not THAT weird, as I remember seeing a KISS performance on Saturday or Sunday morning TV when I was very young.

I had a dream that I went handbag shopping and drinking with Etty.

Every so often I have a Jane's dream. Very infrequently these days. But I had one last night. I was sitting with Perry before the show and he said "you're not going to want to miss this one. We've played it safe for so long. This is going to be the ultimate Jane's Addiction set. Every song, no punches pulled."

I got really excited. Right as the house lights went off I woke up.
